Dude they need something actually dark. Not purple/blueberry, dark, Void. Black
The only one I would question is the pink skintone because I have no idea how far the Nightwell, uh…radiation?, goes in their skintone evolution. Lack of amber eyes is kind of weird as well, I’m not sure if the Nightwell would override it or not, but amber eyes were for Highborne and Suramar was a major city full of elves. It would be hard to believe they wouldn’t have any…assuming the Nightwell doesn’t override them? idk
TBH I think face wise now they are the best looking elves aside from a couple void elf faces now (Yes, velf, not belf their makeup makes the faces look better)
Thalassians are too bug eyed and night elves…are gross.
Heterochromia would be great as well, one normal eye, one with black sclera.
I feel like they just need to be significantly different to be an AR. Like maybe Taunka or Yaungol for Tauren as they aren’t just swapping horns for antlers, but actual face changes. I think stuff like the Kul tiran is lore a bit off, but gameplay better since it’s a whole new model. But, and how to do this without talking about wildhammer. something where it’s more just the same model but some different looks to them, I’d rather have it as options in the main race (hopefully with bringing along appropriate classes) so that I could have the choice to use those if my character was supposed to be one but I didn’t have the options before without having to race change or worry if the class is available.
Why not both?
I still want DEEP purple / black skins for void elves, that have “star” freckles.
Change the racial effect to be more “monstrous” to compensate.
I keep joking they should have a “visual kei” inspired look to their makeup, hair, and jewellery, and… honestly, at this point I’m not joking.
Alliance needs some cultural diversity desperately anyways.
I can gather examples if wanted, but it’s pretty varied so it’s one of those things I tell people to dive into, especially the 90s stuff, and American/UK Darkwave.
I am making use of the wildhammer options we got, I do wish they had a model option at the very least though. But yeah, overall I agree there should have been more significant model changes to consider them for a separate race.
It’s the only thing keeping me from making a Void Elf atm. I would 100% settle for a permanent Ethropic Embrace option that doesn’t override the hair and the racial could still do that.
Personally for the High Elf themed tats that are Void…cursed?, idk how to describe them, just void looking
Although I think it might be nice, and probably doable to have a small degree of a scale slider, I mean they have the various growth and shrink effects, so at least they could let us scale within a smaller scale to get a bit of height difference if not build difference in races
Also, for reference when I say I want dark skin tones for void elves.
This is what my XIV character looks like.
I want jet black. Even the Nightborne black isn’t quite there yet, and honestly, I really want black still for Lightforged Draenei because of how striking it would look like all the golds.
It’s kind of nuts how we just can’t go this dark in this game with races that are literally themed to night and the stars.
Part of me was holding out hope they were holding onto Thalassian tattoos to dump them onto both races at the same time, with distinct aesthetics and colours for either side, with some of the more basic helf ones being shared.
But, uh…
I need to stop hoping.
But maybe I can again?
Also, while we’re on the topic of tattoos, fur etchings for worgen ala: tattoos? Male nelfs need to be able to change their tattoo colour in general (…and can we get an arcane tint too for the highborne?), cultist tattoos for humans (unlock?), and can we get some sailor tattoos for Kul’tirans?
