So? This is already the case, you already have to wait for your gear to be crafted. Better than being locked out of the gear entirely or having to lvl multiple alts, which most players don’t have time for. You’re argument is simple misdirection and is invalid. This issue doesn’t affect you, that much is clear by the nature of your comment. So don’t throw sand in our eyes, we won’t be blinded by poor thought out rhetoric. Please be constructive next time.
I think you misunderstood. He said you can’t specify quality. I said you should be able to specify quality.
So how do you get a recraft that isn’t an upgrade when you specify it has to be this certain quality?
It’s different with personal orders, they are generally crafted within minutes while you wait.
Ideally the system should have generated some kind of crafted scroll that could be applied to the gear that’s to be upgraded. That way you can wait 10 or 12 hours for that scroll to arrive while still using the gear.
yeah a lot of the design teams idea of socializing seems to be “how I made friends raiding in Everquest”
Then make that not a thing. The whole system is weird, and the whole system is wholly owned by Blizzard. Instead make it that you want an item made to recraft your item. You put up mats, and keep your gear. Then when someone makes it you get an email and apply it to the item.
Nothing is set in stone here, and they can change anything they want. It would be a more vibrant trade economy to have this, with less issues and less annoyance especially on lower pop servers.
Edit: whoops – Full cross server
Longer or no time limit on orders you place
Limit total number of orders
Don’t take gear for recraft via this system instead make an item specifically for it that is bind on pickup that comes in the mail.
It can be done.
We are talking about recrafting, not crafting. For recrafting you have to put your currently owned piece of gear into the slot along with the mats and someone recrafts it for you.
How is that misdirection or invalid? I just asked a question based on my experience and understanding.
How does it not affect me? Do you think I have never recrafted an item of my own?
You are the one being non-constructive, by putting down someone for raising a valid point.
If it’s region wide, it’ll be done quickly.
And recrafts can already sit there. So there isn’t much difference.
Just remove the DF profession system tbh.
I’d actually do them again
H-E-double hockey sticks!
And region wide
They should nuke it from orbit to be safe.
There should be a public recrafting option that only lets crafters who can recraft of equal or higher quality do the order.
If you could specify quality for public orders, I’d expect a lot of them to be returned unfilled. Unless you’re on a server like Area 52 Horde, Stormrage Alliance, or Illidan Horde, not that many people will be able to do the guaranteed R5 that everyone will ask for. And (for some recipes) those that can will require an insight, so even with all mats, if the tip isn’t sufficiently large, they’ll just expire.
OMG talk about a “you think you do but you don’t” moment. Put your rank 4 item up and someone gives you the wonderful surprise of downgrading it to level 1 AND you paid them to do it.
Which is why I said it needs to be region wide. Three times now.
Even with region wide, I think wait times for public orders with a min level set to 5 would be substantially longer than they are now (especially with the limits on how many public orders you can do).
There are orders of magnitude more people who want stuff crafted than there are people capable of crafting it, if we look at NA as a whole.
Because Holly Longdale seems to think they can recreate the small community from Vanilla, even though they failed to do it with Classic, and that was the exact same setup.
Because players say they want that back, but won’t give up the existing features that killed it.
It only takes me overnight at most to get quality 5 on my low pop server.
I think you underestimate region wide.
The bigger fix for this is, especially this late in the expansion (and arguably should’ve been a thing last season) is bumps to skill or crafting tools or whatever to guarantee a rank 5 on EVERYTHING for a maxed crafter + insight.
I still can’t make guaranteed rank 5 jewelry and unless I’m missing something niche, I have everything long maxed out and the best tools available to me. As someone who already detests crafting, it just makes me more against the entire thing and want for simpler times when at least my time and effort paid off with just pushing the button and being done no matter what it is.
I think too if they wanted to adopt FFXIV so badly, they should’ve included the bit where items could be destroyed when crafting as a risk vs reward thing. Maybe I’m wrong on that tidbit, but it sure would spice things up if someone had a decent enough chance to lose their item entirely for just a few extra item levels. Make them think if it’s really worth it or not.
