Why so much hate over high elf options

Then that’s a Blizzard thing, not a Void elf got 2 things thing, your entire argument is based around minimum efforts halting a large amount of core races from receiving “up to standard” customization.

As we’ve seen with plenty of other core races, they’ve obviously put more effort into some more than others, Night Elves and Humans being the top core races to receive substantial and quality customization, why are you not considering that in what “halted” Blizzard from completing core customization all around?

It literally can’t just be Void Elves and Mag’har that stunted Blood Elves, it’s disingenuous to suggest as such.

Yes, we nelves have done very well. I want to share our hairstyles with other races even, they are too pretty to be restricted to one race.

There are additional things I want for them, but I’m happy with what nelves will be starting with. Especially given the decision to unlock dk hair colors for all classes.

Awwww, someone’s chicken

That’s why I try to be so clear when making sure I’m arguing for core races as a whole to get the attention I think Blizzard kind of fell short on despite it being the selling point of their expansion, with many not even knowing if ARs were coming into play.

I think there is this misconception I keep saying “Blood Elves, Blood Elves, Blood Elves” for me, it comes up specifically in direct parallel to VE’s in these discussions, but also BE’s/VE’s are my only frame of reference for what I play, so what do I know about goblins, etc to be their voice, so in terms of things I’d like to see in specific customizations of course I talk about Blood Elves.

But I also feel core races as a whole got shafted, and if BE’s aren’t the first core race to be given a double take its fine, but the core of my argument I hope is clear I’m advocating for Blizzard to remember their comments on core races, and see like “hey its kinda lack luster before you move ahead can you listen to the core race fan requests”

For blood elf fans, they almost unanimously see blood elves in their current state as rightfully belonging to the Horde and might consider anything that makes void elves more like the former to be taking away from them.

Exactly the opposite of this. You’re in the minority, as most people would be upset if Blizzard decided to give one faction’s race to the other verbatim.

For void elf fans, they might think it dilutes their race’s racial identity and/or has attracted a group of people that superficially only enjoy the race post-change because it’s a placebo for a race they actually wanted and want it to be changed even further to fit their tastes, covered below.

For people on both or neither side of the fence, they’re most likely frustrated with the metaphorical Pandora’s box that Blizzard opened and the people that support and are likely the main reason for the change, as described here:

People who supported high elves becoming an Alliance allied race or void elves getting high elf options now have an extremely bad stigma from their nearly 3-year-long campaign, and it is absolutely not helped by them claiming victory over the skin tone change only to start asking for void elves to get even more pieces of the high elf identity tacked onto them. As people have pointed out, they didn’t stop there and now want Blizzard to give void elves blonde hair, paladins as a class despite being told repeatedly that such a thing would be a big lore no-no and more.

Also pointed out before, some people just hate the idea of void elves getting new options ahead of some more neglected races. Nightborne, in particular, still only have few enough skin tones to be able to count on one hand. The only other allied race I can think of that is getting new skin options in the pre-patch are mechagnomes because they already share textures with classic gnomes.

Im not saying it was.

I’m saying going to give ARs new customization was dumb, when not all the core races got the same attention.

Then as the side point: If they wanted to do AR customization this early and the Void Elves was an easy addition, they should have done something similar to all of them…but they didnt.

I know how that is. I rarely talk much about male customization because I don’t play male toons, so my input there basically boils down to me just wanting blizzard to listen to those who do play them.

I myself am really disappointed at the lack of tattoos and scars for many races. I was really wanting little cogs and gears for my gnomes and goblins, and female night elves aren’t getting tattoos for some reason. I want blood elves to get farstrider themed tattoos, magey/runic tattoos, and dark ranger options. More hairstyles, and ear armor is high on my list too.

Yes, they got ports from already in progress Blood Elf customization, that’s hardly options, that’s quite literally 2 things.

Incorrect, I’m fully confident and outright hoping core races receive more customization in the future based on player requests as they have stated multiple times that their concentration is on “core races” first, and we are a month from release and a possible week from pre-patch, if they wanted to increase core race customization they would of done it in all the time they had after the blood/void elf blue post.

They decided not to and ARs should come after what they decided was core races “first”.

Laughable that you think asking for more than 2 things later down the line is greedy when I’m the one willing to wait for them and not the one demanding more on top of what I already received before anything else happens like Lann is.

That they would go first, and they did.

Not that they would go first and would turn around if you really didn’t like them.

They went first, according to you, it’s now ARs turn, and hopefully during or after that time they circle back to all core races.

You know, as is fair.

In the sense that with the few they added triggered a few people, then yes, i agree.

If it’s the misleading aspect of this that gets you then I understand.

“MAKE ANDUIN GO HORDE” SAY FOR THE HORDE ANDUIN! I think this is what would happen but clearly horde aren’t pushing for humans to be on horde as much as alliance are pushing for high elves.

I’ve seen some wonderful fan art of NE Highborne with youthful male faces, idk really what goes into Highborne per se as far as what would be asked for, but it’s something I would have wished for NEs and NB both on their male character (the youthful faces), which I’m just not knowledgeable enough on other races to make much more than a general offer of support.

But void elves got their turn ahead of other ars, so they can wait for the next pass, right? Because like you said, it doesn’t matter how many options they got, or the quality, they got a turn, so now their turn is done.

I am in support of highborne options for both. I really hope nightbirne get a whole new model honestly, and magnificent arrogance like their npcs.

Nothing sore about it, just losers hehe

This is highly subjective and you know it, even you agree that skin tones and eye color is not enough, its 2 things.

If the same scenario had happened to Blood Elves I would agree, but Blood Elves received more than 2 things, whether or not people like them is suggestive, the numbers more than anything can be debated, not the quality.

Incorrect, a sneak peak is not a turn, it’s a sneak peak, as they are an AR and Blizzard stated to work on ARs after “core races”.

You stating they “had their turn” is reaching to make your argument work.

I like the assertion that there will be more.

Your logic apparently also thinks it’s fair that BEs received less quality and substance options after losing their options to be shared with VEs. But somehow you also think it’s fair VEs got the better end of the deal and that was “just the sneak peak” but Blood Elves have “had their turn” and anyone that points out core races are lack luster and should be addressed before moving on are also the problematic ones? Did I get that all correct?

I love the pessimistic suggestion that you think there won’t be.

Considering ARs are the most empty customization wise, for all ARs.

If Shadowlands comes and goes and Nightborne aren’t fixed, as they are the most desperate for work, they’ll easily become the new high elf topic on the forums.

They said they were adding touches (or words similar to that effect) of high elves to both. Not that they were adding straight up full high elf (although really, they really didn’t need to add much for the blood elves if anything) You’re just acting entitled and declaring that this pretty hefty hunk of options doesn’t count because it’s just a preview. Pretty greedy, no?

there is no specific ‘AR pass’ coming. this is just helfer gaslighting. pretty much all of the AR had more options(tattoos/accessories) then the core races. kultiran customization was the most similar to the core race situation. no tats. nothing else for them besides selecting face hair and skin tone. the only other AR that needs help is nightborne but thats just a matter of fixing the model

customization is about to slow to a trickle, as the lead art dev said, the focus after this customization push for launch is the next expac. best you can probably hope for, if they bother with the ARs, is ear length and maybe theyll recolor the jewellery and give you 2 more hairstyles for void elves

oh, and dont forget the only reason you even got blood elf skin tones was because there was a trade. a trade that many know blood elves should have gotten anyway and was not a fair trade in any capacity. also your transmog is odd, whats the point of playing a worgen and putting a muzzle on :face_with_monocle:
