Why Silvermoon hasn't been rebuilt

Is there any explanation in the lore to why Silvermoon city, the capital of the Blood Elves, hasn’t been rebuilt yet? I know it shouldn’t be so that the new players can have stuff to do, but is there an in-lore explanation?

Lor’thremar too busy being a clutchman and picking up the slack of the other Horde leaders.

No, it would be a lot of work to make it part of the main world and make it flying friendly.

Lore wise it should be in a lot more healthy state right now. Not as good as before the Arthas attack. But better

They would have to do a serious rebuild of both zones (and the space goats) along with the city. I just don’t see them putting that much effort in at this point.

It would be nice though.

Agreed, I understand that it would take a huge amount of work for Blizzard to do this, but imagine how great Silvermoon would be.

If the devs ended up actually rebuilding the city, it could actually become the new hotspot for horde players to meet up at, especially Blood Elf mains like me.

Then again that’s just wishful thinking, Ogrimmar is without a doubt the trademark city of the Horde.

Not much use to rework a city that barely anyone use, unless there’s events affecting. I’m sure Night elves would have prefered no rework of Teldrassil.

They hired the same contractors that Alliance did to rebuild storm wind and you saw how long that took.

lazy DEVs

Extended explanation, the development team only does things that it can “sell” as content in an expansion.

In order to integrate the elven territories into the general map, they would have to be removed and then redone as part of the map of eastern kingdoms.

That is a lot of time and you will not be rewarded if you are not regularly visited by the players.

Solution:
Make important events of an expansion occur in that Zone.

There is exactly one male Blood Elf, and it’s Lor’themar Theron.

Probably needs an expac that focuses on it a lot for them to put the money and time into making it not all smoke and mirrors.

Sin’dorei are horde. They don’t concern themselves with building, only destroying.

Pfff… you’re just saying that because we keep breaking your poorly made crap.

I mean… seriously, who lives in a tree, and expects us not to burn it?

Lack of relevancy.

Same reason the Vale took this long to get restored. I’d have preferred a bronze dragon, but meh.

Yeah who am I to expect people to not burn innocent men women and children alive. I’m such a dick.

The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Admitting the truth is the first stage in recovery.

Keep up the good work, homie.

I like how we both went there.

Like I said you’re not concerned with building, only destroying.

Lor’themar didn’t really want to extend the Blood Elves into Northrend because he wanted to focus on dealing with the remnant Scourge and rebuilding. But the Horde (Sylvanas) convinced him that dealing with Arthas should be a higher priority. Considering the losses suffered on all sides in that offensive and the events that have transpired since then it isn’t too unreasonable to think that they haven’t gotten to it yet.

It’s creative destruction.

For instance: yes, we destroyed your tree-house, but look at the giant bonfire we built!
