Why though? what compelled you to make the post, if not to get replies? Seems very… Lemonfrontie to me…
Hot take. This system wont make it easier to actually find a group / clear oculus with.
What compels you to keep responding to a public forum?
I’ll post whatever I want here. Just seeing how other people interpret RDFs affects.
People are going to complain like holy when RDF keeps putting them with scrubs.
as long as they dont have that its fine by me
i remember when it was applied on ICC and we wiped once on a ICC 5 man dungeon
and we had no idea of where the dungeon entrance was because lol you got teleported to it, that was when all immersion was killed
Now that’s funny.
I remember using it to get to the dungeon because we couldn’t find the door!
Why put any effort in the outside of a dungeons appearance if no one will see it.
You literally made this thread to complain about made up problems, rdf is nothing but a boon.
In my opinion it is not the teleportation to the dungeon that hurts the experience, but rather the lack of community building when the dungeon finder is cross realm. Today in TBC Classic, if I am in a really under performing group in a 5 man instance, I am likely to want to stick it out because the players in the group are all local to my realm. I represent not only myself, but my guild while in that group, and I take my reputation and the reputation of my guild seriously.
Cross realm dungeon finder also generally prevent other aspects of community building besides the aspect of reputation alone. Sometimes I find new in-game friends, people that I actually enjoy playing with and can group with again and again, gaining new connections. Which can lead to better recruitment for a guild, or even the creation of brand new guilds.
100% agree. With cross realm the dissociation from your constituents is multiplied.
Now when I screw over a group, the players may not even be on my realm!
I mainly focused on the benefits. Is English not your first language?
There is literally nothing wrong with the Random Dungeon Finder.
Zilch. People that say there is are overblowing the situation.
Litearlly right now in TBC without it, people refuse to do dungeons unless they personally need it, or they are doing a friend a favor. People will refuse to go t the dungeon unless summoned.
Making people walk to the dungeon doesn’t increase any immersion or make the world better at all, the only thing it does is enable PvP realms to gank at the stones and try to stop factions from being able to do anything.
Seriously, stop tryin to pretend that it’s a problem when it’s not.
A tad of an exaggeration.
My post is highlighting why it’s too beneficial. It’s too powerful.
And why do they do them in WotLK? Do I do dungeons for a different reason in any version of the game?
I agree, we should just get rid of the world entirely and have the entire game take place in a room full of portals and NPCs, because traveling is bad and unfun and nobody likes to do it. This is the best way to design an MMORPG, obviously.
With RDF I mean, it’s kind of like that.
You can just sit in your factions city and never leave, level 13-80.
Thread title “Why rdf hurts the game”. Hur dur “I mainly focused on the benefits”… Is english not YOUR first language?
It does hurt the game. Why are you so offended by my opinion on it?
Don’t be silly.
Because the random dungeon finder gives a gold incentive to use random dungeons, and also provides other rewards like badges, it’s also something you can do passively without having to worry about it.
You don’t have to stop what your doing for 30-60 minutes trying to piece together a group for a dungeon anymore, you just set it and continue on what your doing.
Ontop of that with the bonuses you get from Looking for Dungeon? It helps a lot.
Right now you have tanks demanding payment to tank dungeons.
Because just like your opinion that shamans can be viable tanks you’re objectively wrong.
I feel like the middle ground is to have a dungeon finder for a local realm. However, the challenge there is that a significant number of realms today severe faction imbalance and population issues. If you are Alliance on Mankrik, it may take a large amount of time before random dungeon finder can put a group together. So I can certainly see why a local to realm dungeon finder would be less viable. I still think the biggest concerns that people generally raise about random dungeon finder both now and in the distant past is because of the loss of community building. Unless Blizzard can some how figure out population issues, there is no good solution here.
