Why RDF hurts the game

Not really, no. It is quite a small change but one that is greatly appreciated because of how convenient it is. See: Zephyr requests until we finally got her added.

Naw. The TP is good.

It is a video game that allows macros and addons galore and every action is gated by a GCD… this game is very lazy by default.

Sounds like a pretty substantial change to me, considering it teleports you anywhere.

It isn’t.

It doesn’t. You only go to the instances, and if you exit the instance you’re back where you were when you queued.

Did you play in Wrath at all?

Sure would be terrible if we could just queue for BGs and no longer had to go to the individual BG entrances, cause that’s such an immersive and needed part of the game.

Ya because PvP doesn’t have another party competing or anything…

That’s some CRAZY talk Aedd. Everyone knows the real BG experience is flying to Hillsbrad and riding up the mountains into the AV portal…

PS - I wonder how many people that didn’t do the rank grind in Classic even know where the WSG portal is?

IF you don’t like RFD don’t use it. Sit in trade or LFG and spam. IF there are enough people that share your same interest, you shouldn’t have a problem finding group.

BUT trying to force everyone to cater to your preference is clown shoes. RFD was simply better / faster / more rewarding than LFG. Having to fly multiple zones away while questing to then have to fly multiple zones back to where you were questing is in no way shape or form fun. Even back in Vanilla people HATED it, which is why we got summoning stones.

Very few will do that for dungeons (only for HRs probably). RDF is advantageous even for premade dungeon groups.

Why would I make a group of 5 when that loses me 5% damage and an instant teleport to and from the dungeon?

So what is the point of you post? RFD doesn’t hurt the game, it alleviates a major headache of the game. The simple fact that you can queue while questing and return to where you were means more people will queue simply because they don’t need to spend time returning to what they were doing before.

The number of times I’ve dropped group cause I’d rather finish a quest to continue farming…

If you read it you’ll find out! A little alarming you commented before doing this though. If you did read it, try reading it again.

And that has what to do with the instant teleportation part of it that seems to be such a problem for you?

I’ll copy what I already wrote.

It’s disadvantageous for anyone to do dungeons the old way. Unless you want a reserved item, it’s far better to get a group of 3-4 and queue for that last dps spot.

You get a 5% buff, and instant teleportation there and back.

Yeah just like its disadvantageous to go and do BGs the old way yet no one’s complaining about that.

Because it’s not a major change to the game that has hundreds of forum post.

Why are you making a false scenario in your head? It makes zero sense to go to BGs manually.

and?

That’s it. Just my opinion. Don’t worry yourself with it too much!

RDF isn’t an alternative, it’s really the only way most groups should form.

Why would anyone want to do them the old way? I’m still not understanding… Why are you so hard up on preserving this old way? they already simplified it with summoning stones.

I’m not. Why do you do this?

I gave my opinion to why people hate it so much or why it’s degrading to the game for them.

RDF was put in place to help people find groups. Now people that already have groups will use it too since it’s that good.

Because at one point in vanilla wow that was the only way to do BGs, but it got changed to improve the qol of everyone involved, rdf is the exact same thing.

It’s not an issue though. How many forum post do you see about people discussing this?

You’re making up something to get upset about. Stop it.
