I didn’t play the game back in wrath so I’m experiencing all this for the first time…But if someone has already done it before, why do it again? It’s like when Asmongold says “A dime a dollar” so you know it has to be competitive with an older version of the game.
Basically it’s weird to me that someone who has already competed returns to something you ALREADY DID. Why experience that again?
Wow is an mmorpg. You play those and make sure that it has the right outcome. Im not talking about Zelda because it’s not the “dime a dollar” if you get what I mean.
I’m just wondering about an aspect of raiding that seems to draw a line between the players and how it can be fixed because if you already DID IT then why not let someone else try instead?
There’s not really a clear way to picture it if they try to is all mean, luckily I have one of my own as well so I won’t experience it again and again like some of these guys
it’s been so long ago that we like to re-live those moments. avoiding the fire on Firefighter felt very hard… how will it feel now? have we evolved any? or have only our addons evolved?
But here’s the thing - when you do a raid it is for the end goal which doesnt really make a huge difference when you think about it. Thats what people dont really get, let the rotations take over the positions because its based on the “dime a dollar” like asmongold was saying.
Like him or not, it’s a very good motto because it works. Also its not about the enjoyment of raiding its more about the multiple encounters which include different experiences. Im not saying ALL ARE BAD but theres a chance blizzard wont have the ability to stop it if it gets out of control. I guess we have to see on that one.
It’s only worth doing if you’re playing with people you enjoy spending time with. That justifies it. Otherwise, you’re right, playing classic PVE for a second time is a total waste of time.
Its not about justifying anything…are people on the forums really this dense? Even without the raids, the issue of whether or not it should be allowed to continue still exists. A dime a dollar proves my point if you have ANY critical thinking skills, regardless if you tried to raid that exact way.
Classic would clearly be better if raids had new and interesting mechanics and class balancing. Sticking to one content patch over the course of an expansion kills any potential for raid progression to be interesting.
New mechanics dont work in classic. We saw that in naxx during phase 2, nobody expected what happened yet everybody capitalized on it…pretty hypocritial of most people around here if im being honest, although Asmon did too so i cant be too mad about it i guess.
Let’s apply the same logic to a different game:
I really like basketball, but I wouldn’t play a game today because I played one 14 years ago
Or,
My friends asked me to play a hand of poker. I told them no because it would be boring. I played a game of cards a few years ago.
When you love a game you want to keep playing it, even if it hasn’t changed since the last time.
