If you intended for that postscript to be in regard to your prior statement and not in a response to Overkill’s original comment, you have bad writing format that needs work. The logical deduction after teasing someone about “flexing” and then saying “don’t take it too seriously” is that it is a response to the initial flex, not to your reply.
Basically, you fell for bait and now you’re getting trolled.
Huh? The implicit message of “on multiply levels” refers as well to the forum game. But pardon me if my writing skills are not up to your standard. I’ll try work on my english, which probably leaves some to desire as it isn’t my maternal language
I am old and set in my ways, I have a small amount of play time and dont want my goals and objectives to be dictated by other people camping or obstructing me. Thats why I will play on a pve server.
if you pick a bad pve server and it ends up being dead even for cross realm bgs you mite regret going pve.there were only 2 bgs at that time ws and av.
All these comments about corpse camping… It did happen sometimes, but it wasn’t the norm. I played on Illidan from release, then Barth and Frostmourne. Never had major corpse camping issues on any characters. That was from vanilla to the end of Wrath. I came back in late Legion onto a pve server to play with my brother and the lack of danger is laughable. The entire world is boring AF. Even with “flagging” for pve - and now War Mode.
I’ll be rolling PvP again in classic. It’s the only way for me.
I also played on Kil’Jaeden but during Vanilla. It was a horrible experience because of the camping. I could [barely] tolerate the ganking (I never ganked, personally), but the players who get pleasure out of camping (the graveyard across the river from Nesingwary’s was a popular site for campers) are not worth putting up with.
Ganking is about as Carebear as pvp can possibly get. I mean as a 60 Rogue I don’t ever have to lose in Redridge.
Because Blizzard didn’t add any endgame, and the bgs were turned into a pve honour farm by 1.12, I suspect ganking will be huge in Classic, much, much bigger than in Vanilla. Ah fkc it, I’m taking my 60 Gnome rogue and shutting down Stonetalon. Have fun cuz there’ll be 8 other Gnome rogues shutting it down first.
Whelp this thread has run its course. I think we are just repeating ourselves at this point. I was just interested in hearing some pros and experiences of pvp servers and what they were like and I think I got the idea.
Reason I didnt want to discuss PvE vs PvP is because almost everyone can only speak to one type of server and make negative remarks about the others.
I have pretty much made my decision at this point and want to thank everyone who contributed to the forum.
There are some unique experiences from what I heard and a lot of what I have already been told.
I think a lot of you PvP server players would benefit from running around flagged on a PVE. You might just be surprised on how much pvp you get and just how much more fair the fights are and better quality ones at that. That fear of watching your back is still there.
As for me I think I may even try a pvp server at first to see if there is something Im missing here. See if some world pvp at max lvl is better than pve servers. Most of what I heard is very similar to just being perma flagged. but Im pretty sure I wont stay unless something REALLY clicks hard for me. What comes to mind at the moment is Phase 2 for pvp servers. I want to get at least rank 12 or 13 and to be competitive but I dont want to spend hours of my free time a day for months in a group camping a flight master and waiting for poor saps to land and kill them when they have no chance. Which make no mistake that WILL be the meta for pvp servers for the months phase 2 is out. I’d rather just not play than do that.
But hey you like pvp servers good on you! It sounds like theres a lot to like!
Good luck and go get em boys and gals!
For the 2 and a half years i played the game almost every single fight i had was full hp vs full hp. Yes they get the first attack in if they arent flagged but that never made a difference in any fight I had.
May not be the way a lot of people like to play but hey for me my opponent getting the first attack in our first fight we have is more than worth it to me if it makes things more fair and fun. Maybe im not explaining it very well but its how i feel. Others dont have to feel that way, nor do i expect them too. I just dont get much enjoyment if there isn’t a challenge.
And hell who knows, maybe Ill find I have been missing my true calling on a pvp server who knows.
On my realm when WPvP was at its peak in previous expansions we had our fair fights be centered around the RP. And when we had World Defense we would assault bases that we claimed for our guild whenever it pinged and we knew it was happening. But there was also plenty of mud slinging and zergs to be had. And it was always funny when situations are presented where numbers should truly win an engagement but the more skilled players come out on top.
Personally though, I don’t want the option to be able to turn off my flag in contested territory. I want to always have the possible threat of getting caught with my pants down and either paying the price or finding my way through it. I live for situations like this one when it comes to WPvP encounters.
Idk, i rolled on a PvP server because my friends rolled on one and i think i made the right choice. It’s always fun to quest while looking behind your back and ganking on your downtime as well. Makes things much more interesting and even tho you’ll find yourself on the wrong end of the stick most of the times, it develops organic rivalries and spontaneous PvP that cannot be replicated in a PvE server or in warmode.
I can’t count how many times we were getting ready to raid BWL or MC and we ended up wasting 50 mins PvPing outside the instance against other guilds, trying our hardest to blockade the entrance, fun times. I feel for people that will roll a healing spec and have to farm their own mats tho, it can be sort of miserable trying to fend off against rogues or hunters as a Holy priest.
