Go back to your barbie dress up simulator, thanks.
Lokka:
It’s not like looking like a clown because none of your gear matches is a problem that only came about after Vanilla. On the contrary, the only other period that can even contend with Vanilla for the “Stupidest-Looking Average Player Characters” trophy is BC, because there was no cohesion to any quest rewards or dungeon loot aside from full on Sets, most of which were endgame loot, and the rest of which you would level out of. Looking like an idiot until you collect a full tier set that you will then never change out of is not really my idea of an amazing fantasy adventure.
It can’t be for keeping top end appearances out of the hands of the filthy masses, because that’s as simple to fix as not letting appearances collected in Retail apply to the Classic wardrobe. Anyone mogging T2 in Classic would still have had to actually acquire T2 in Classic.
I doubt it’s the economy. The reason low level green items in Retail can be posted for such exhoribitant prices is because of the massive gold inflation that’s happened over multiple expansions, most notably during WoD and its poorly conceived garrison gold missions. Auction prices in Classic will inevitably be much lower simply because Classic won’t have even a fraction as much gold in players’ hands to begin with. No one’s going to pay 20k gold for those platekini legs because no one has 20k gold, period.
At the bare minimum, couldn’t items we acquire in Classic be applied to our Retail wardrobes, even if Classic itself doesn’t have transmog? It would be one of the easiest ways to bring back dozens of items whose appearances were lost in the Cataclysm old world revamp like the Blackened Defias Leather set. A full set of Blackened Defias Leather was not a particularly impressive feat by the time it was removed from the game; it’s just that no one knew they needed to keep devoting their limited bank space to something they might put on to wear around town once in a blue moon because its stats would get their level 80+ character killed trying to actually play the game in it until a year and a half later when Transmog was announced.
If I could transmog something I’d transmog this wall of text.
I can’t understand why people care about what they look like while leveling in classic. As if other players wearing the same stupid gear are finger-pointing like “haha look how dumb that guy looks!”.
I enjoy looking sorta dumb. It just makes it more satisfying when you get the actual matching set you’re looking for.
Adding transmog would open the floodgates and allow people to request anything. If they add transmog, then why not a LFG system? Why not flying mounts (you know they’re using the full map, not the pre-flight map)?
I’m not disagreeing with you, only providing the reason it won’t happen.
Know who always looks awesome? Druids. Gear looks mean squat to Druids.
Transmog makes getting gear sets less meaningful
I wouldn’t care if only you saw your transmogrification. I want to be able to see at a glance what people are wearing, mostly for pvp reasons… And it’s not to pick on under geared players.
If they did add transmog, which im in the “its not needed crowd” id like to see the “effect” canceled in bgs.
You wanna know what youre really up against.

Truth! Plus if we start adding Retail perks where do you draw the line?
