current politics have people being very extremist in life. its black or white. There needs to be more compromise in todays world.
for my view? I hate RDF, in MY experiences, RDF made the game suck more. people got more toxic and it just made me hate doing it half the time.
BUT! i’m a man of compromise.
if RDF was -------
-Realm ONLY
but! had 1 of these 2 things.
- 20 / 30 min delay where, if the group hasnt formed yet, it will open to cross-realm pool
OR
-the OPTION to allow cross-realm pool or to avoid it.
i’d be fine and i think the MAJORITY of people would be happy with this compromise as well. unfortunately the extremists are typically the most vocal and blizzard tends to believe there are more of them than there really are.

Here is a better comprimise. Put rdf in the game. Just as it was then.
If you dont want to use it, DONT USE IT.
Let me guess. But everyone else will use it so nobody else will be available for you to group with. THATS RIGHT. Because there are only a handfull of morons that dont want it.
Take your comprimise nonsense to retail. We want the game “AS IT WAS THEN”

Compromises between players on the forums makes little difference, if Blizzard wants it to be this way then they will push it through no matter what.
Some might think they’ll change their minds after launch and put it in but if they’re putting any amount of effort into this “new” system for finding a group it seems unlikely they’ll abandon their desire.

Yeah, I feel like their new group finder is an attempt to keep the original goal of LFD (finding a group quickly without spamming LFG chat in major cities), while eliminating the proven drawbacks (reduced realm identity/sense of community, reduced socialization, reduced world immersion).
Hopefully they iterate on that and get it right. The new LFG tool IS the compromise.

Although i would prefer it at launch just like all of the final patch chamges are being added, i have no problem with it being added later.
Vanilla classic launched with the final patch. The original game chamged many things from patch to patch before the final patch. But they chose to include those final patch changes. The only things they did not include was the raid order. So sticking with that, insee no reason not to include it from launch.
It was a part of wrath. It was not raid content.

They have already said they have no plans of changing thier mind.
They launched vanilla classic with a fraction of the amount of servers they have now. That shows they are willing to do this even if there are enough players to populate a hand full of servers. Which is what is going to happen. And they dont care. They are fine with that.
Its umfortunate for the company that they put idiots in charge. Im sure they think those that dont like classic will just play retail. They are wrong. Ppl will quit wrath and they will be done. Some may continue to play retail, but those that they lose that only play classic will not start playing retail.

Exactly the same compromise was suggested and discussed elsewhere.
However I see no point in discussing this any more, since there is no community/social value left in game currently for dungeon runs and the very foundation of the reason for eliminating RDF is already void.

How about add rdf and if u don’t like it don’t use it, and if ur a gamer dad who thinks social interaction of finding a dungeon group in chat is fun then do that

Stated already in this spam thread. Adding 20 min delay makes the queue for dungeons take 20 minutes longer for dps. So if DPS already have a 10-30 minute Cross-realm wait time… adding 20 minutes before they can even enter the bigger pool would make it 30-50 minutes waiting… RDF Cross-Realm is designed to get you into a group without all the hassle.
Nobody is running dungeons as their main source of content. They are literally doing it for Rep, Gold, Badges. This is called Farming boys… How about we add a 30 minute queue onto going into a zone before you can farm herbs or mineral nodes. See how dumb that sounds?

RDF should be realm only, no exceptions. And NO teleport to the dungeon.

i get it ur 40 years old, also how does flying to a dungeon after finding a group legit add any social interaction? Every server is 90% one faction and you fly there to click a stone enter and hearth out, wow legit added so much “social interactions” more like time wasted doing nothing. My bad i want the game like it was in wrath not some boomer version that removes a tool to make my life easier and also nerf my daily badges/emblems from no rdf rewards

“If you don’t like it, don’t use it” ignores (perhaps intentionally) the fact that every feature impacts the game and community whether you personally use it or not. When someone says they don’t want RDF, they mean they don’t want to experience the unavoidable impact it will have on the game overall that will affect them whether they use it or not.
And these impacts aren’t even theoretical. We’re talking about something that has already happened on live servers. We have already seen the impact RDF has on the game, and it’s that impact people don’t want.
If it was as simple as not using it, nobody would be fighting against its inclusion. Nobody actually cares how you want to play the game, insofar as it doesn’t impact the way they want to play the game. That’s the crux of the disagreement.
I’m not faulting you for wanting RDF, but what you need to understand is people’s reason for not wanting it can’t be ameliorated simply by not using it. And their reason for not wanting it isn’t just to stop you from having it.

Yea man you guys act like RDF is the end of the world yet the game is 90% GDKP buying gold from third party websites, people literally wont even give you the time of day unless you open trade and show $$$. You think having no RDF is gonna help that LMAO?? It’s just gonna make things worse no one is gonna take a fresh geared 80 when they can knit pick from lfg. The people who do not want RDF are the ones who will ultimately be punished for not having it.

Pretty sure GDKP is only used in raids, which RFD would have no impact on either way.
Yea it’s no different its either people HR items in dungeons or paying for them, open the TBC Bulletin Board, every single MGT hard reserve, 500g each, ect ect. Also not ignoring the fact that gearscore becomes way more prevalent in wrath and no one is gonna bring sht geared characters to a heroic, RDF made that a non issue but you guys want to fly to dungeons and basically do the same thing RDF did but make it harder for some reason with a LFG tool that doesnt even work?

Why would i form a group in a tool that is legit terrible and does the same thing RDF automatically does? Whats actually the point of this new lfg thats a scuffed RDF? Just so u can type inv to a person u will never speak to again and fly for 5 minutes?
