I mean right now, in TBC. You can use LFG chat in TBC, or consult your friends list or your guild to form a group that doesn’t have reserves or GDKP or anything. Why not do that?
Or i could just do what i did in wrath and hit a button?
Not the most graceful dodge.
By electing to not answer my question, I have to assume that means you know the answer you have prepared probably wouldn’t hold up under scrutiny, or would reveal a desire or end goal you’re embarrassed to admit.
Sorry im not 40 years old and prefer not to spam in chat for 30 minutes looking for a tank or healer that doesnt need the dungeon i need because they have 0 incentive to do it
Also not to mention the fact you are going to be losing 24 extra badges per day from not having RDF which slows down gearing by a lot making it less alt friendly as well. That’s not including the massive amount time wasted trying to find a group in this great new LFG tool. Warmane already tried this route with a hardcore season progression server with no RDF, did not work out very well at all, in the end they had to re-add it because it was killing the server
This is a fair point, but only applies to ICC phase and beyond, since RDF wasn’t introduced until the ICC patch originally. Up until then, the game was paced and balanced around not having access to it.
If anything, including RDF from the outset might make gearing easier than intended for preceding tiers of content (similar to introducing PvP rewards early in SoM).
So as far as having WotLK as it was, that’s a good argument for not including it until what I assume would be the second-to-last phase (with the last being Ruby Sanctum).
But this isn’t actually the argument I or most people use for not wanting RDF. The actual arguments about community, socialization, and world immersion are widespread and easy to find.
I just do not see the socialization in saying “inv dps - random gearscore” fly to the dungeon on and already 99% one faction sided server click the summon stone finish dungeon hearth and most likely never speak to those people again. My experience in TBC has been to avoid as many random heroics as i can because they are absolutely miserable
So by compromise, you not only want us to yield to RDF but also cross-realm.
That’s not what a compromise is.
How about no. This is a typical response from someone who has no legitimate counter. You start bringing up what ifs. What if this and what if that.
Nobody was talking about any of those stupid ideas you brought up. Nobody.
Stick to the topic or stay out of the discussion. If you dont want to use rdf then dont use it. Thats the topic. Not boosts and any other nonsense. Just rdf. Thats it. If u want to discuss those others then start a new thread.
What if pigs start flying. What if. What if
There’s a games that has all that out now.
Is there where ur gonna tell me to go play retail or something when the crazy part is I can guarantee you that you are terrible at every aspect of the game
So, I’m having fun, you’re miserable.
But… but… the socialization… but… but… the inmersion… How dare you not want to sit 30min in a city spamming LFG channel to be gate keeped because you are not a meta spec/class or not 3 tiers higher than the content you want to run!
Peak social aspect and community right there!
Me: I don’t want RDF.
You: Don’t like it don’t use it.
Me: Ok, can I have a lvl 80 boost with free BiS raid gear?
You: No, that’s a stupid idea.
Me: Don’t like it don’t use it.
You can’t say “don’t like it don’t use it” for RDF but then say this retort doesn’t apply for ideas you don’t like.
The point of this exercise is that “don’t like it don’t use it” is a stupid argument when we’re talking about an MMORPG.
Hope this helps.
These boomers have this old ideal that people need to communicate in game to do anything but the reality is no one does anymore everyone already has friend groups and most of the community has moved to discord. Removing RDF isnt gonna change a thing but make getting into groups more exclusive for bad/under geared people and weak classes.
Me: I would like to use the the tool that allows players looking to run dungeons to queue up to be auto grouped with other like minded players as was available during original wotlk.
You: Ok can I have a level 80 boost with bis raid gear?
Me: did you eat paint chips from the walls of a house built under power lines as a child?
Comparing RDF to a lvl 80 boost with bis gear? Lmao
What is this crap… How is RDF equal to an 80 in BiS gear? What even is this argument… RDF doesn’t do anything but save people time on an aspect of the game that literally doesn’t matter. Who cares if everyone has a shoulder enchant… my god.
Because they know they cant debate so they go to absurd comparisons to prove a point. When people who are terrible at the game are the ones the developers listen to retail is what you get, and they are starting to do it on classic as well
the point is not that we actually want level 80 boost with BiS raid gear, sweetie
the point is your justification for having RDF in the game does not hold water.
