Vashj’ir is literally the best zone in the game. If it had a capital city and werent spread apart by quest hubs and faction separation, it’d be the unanimous favorite zone in the game.
Could have had something amazing, but instead you have an underwaterless expansion… Who’s even working on zone ideas anyway? Shadowlands zones look so stereotypical generic and boring snoozfest.
Nazjatar and Mechagnome has the best underwater mount… Seahorses and Mechanical Spider mount that transforms into a submarine when on underwater.
So sad that we cant use these cool underwater mounts on Shadowlands.
Vashjir had mixed reviews. Many people don’t like underwater combat in this game, or have a phobia of deep water. I’m sure that’s why they gave us the choice to either go there or to Hyjal so folks could skip it entirely.
we had one once before, it sucked and most people hated it. hopefully an underwater zone never comes back.
Considering we just spent an entire expansion on islands surrounded by water, even more so for Alliance, I’m pretty sick of water.
I wouldn’t mind if one made an appearance. I remember some of the complaints people had about vashjir were laughable.
I had seen one person complain about having to fight in the extra dimension, but later I saw them griping about how we didn’t have aerial combat yet.
It’s not even out yet…

underwater zones are terrible… 99.9% of the playerbase hate them.
The worst zone in the game. I absolutely hate it.
This is a no flying thread in disguise. 
Vashj’ir was visually beautiful in most areas and a wonderful zone in that respect.
Unfortunately, it suffered from the major fact that Wow is a 2D combat system and was put in a 3D environment, which just do not work. Underwater combat sucks inn pretty much every game unless it was specifically designed for it from the getgo. Take Guild Wars 2, for example. When you go into water, your abilities automatically change as do your movement. It has underwater combat in mind, but even then the scope is very limited.
Underwater zones are a good idea in theory, but just do not work in practice in context of WoW
It’s kind of annoying when I earn underwater mounts or have a class with underwater breathing only for blizzard to give it to me anyways while in underwater zones. They have killed any interest I had in them after forcing scooba helms on my characters so many times. Same thing with giving me parachutes on a class that can float or glide.
You might have loved but many more despised it.
Underwater zones kinda sucked tbh, cool aspect but large things underwater are spooky.
That plus combat/navigation was kinda baaaaaaad.
To this day Vashj’ir remains the one and only zone Iv never even actually been to.
Underwater combat is awful so Iv avoided it for years.

Vashj’ir is a pretty looking zone, but my depth perception ruins it for me when it comes to underwater combat. My eyes are bad enough.

I’m one of the people who loves Vash’jir.
I can see why there is no underwater zone in Shadowlands due to the theme. It wouldn’t really make sense. However, I am still super upset that Nazjatar wasn’t underwater. That zone sucks without flying, so it desperately needed swimming.
