With the state of the majority of pvp servers (99:1 on one factions favor)… why is there no option for pve to pvp transfers in wrath? I’m on a pve realm, full T6 BiS, got all the things I could want, but with no lfd feature coming in wrath I would like to move to one of the true mega servers.
My hesitation is that doing so means all I’ve done is for nothing. And it’s frustrating because it’s obvious that pvp servers are not actually pvp servers… so why the friction in allowing people to play where they want on their mains?

no idea, its always been stupid. but inb4 the no LFD gang come in and say “u didnt earn it thru blood sweat and tears like I did, i got camped once, it was horrible, i still wake up screaming from it”

it is so you don’t easymode level and then transfer and hurt the leveling experience of others while having gained unfair power in the safety of PVE realms with the flag OFF.

I just addressed this above. that is how you sound
but that is the answer to your question.
i am not sure I understand why you’d ask a question you already know the answer to.

firstly, i didnt ask the question, and secondly leveling on a pvp server wasnt bad, ive been on every mega server and leveled and it wasnt anything harder than leveling anywhere else. its just another fallacy spouted by bad players
it amazes me that blizz takes the players that talk about community, and world pvp, etc seriously. its such a joke

bro the mega servers have 0 of the other faction on it are you high?
Can you tell me how leveling alliance on benediction is more difficult than leveling alliance on pagle or horde on mankrik? I’d be interested to hear how unlike a pve realm a 100% one sided pvp server is.
the rules apply to all, independent of unique and specific abnormal circumstances. you know that.

Yeah it feels like something that may’ve made sense back in vanilla but I could never think of a reason why they came to that decision, especially these days. IMO I think they should allow flexibility
Grobb…
Regardless i never could understand why people think it is so much harder; I have always been on pvp servers and its not hard if you’re not completely incapable of pvp.
grobb isn’t a mega server.
In 2022 grob is not mega compared to the real mega servers at 3x their size. In 2004 it would have been gargantuan. But viewing a 2022 environment through 2004 lenses doesn’t make sense imo.
Grob is the third biggest server in NA.
We have 18,000
Farina is 25,000
Benediction 29,000

What rules? And looking at how literally every server except grob exists…. What about my request for an explanation (which you have not provided) would be an abnormal or exceptional circumstance? World Pvp isn’t a thing on any pvp server with grob being the abnormal example.
Again I ask, how is the leveling experience harder for an alliance player on benediction than it is for an alliance on pagle or horde on mankrik? Please do better than “because” this time.
Mankrik and Pagle aren’t exactly dead either.

Grobb is a mega server and so is Mankrik, both have more people than the Classic servers did in 2020, servers that had queues when layering was taken away to keep the game more authentic to how it actually used to feel.
Note that 2020 isn’t 2004.
I won’t use the PVP server argument although you should realize that there’s a possibility of something like CRZ being added to put world PVP back in the game (slim but possible).
The thing I usually bring up is how this will kill PVE servers, which haven’t suffered the same fate as a lot of the PVP ones. There is nothing I’ve hated more in this game than watching servers die so this is important to me.
Honestly, though I’m kind of tired of fighting. You’ll get it or you won’t get it. Your thread is not the first like this, many other posters have made similar ones. So far Blizzard has decided no. Maybe you’ll get what you want in Wrath but for now, you can reroll if you really want to play on PVP server. Your current gear will not matter in Wrath very much.
Yeah, I don’t know what the OP is really going for and I’m curious what that is. 10k is still massive. The only real difference between a 30k server and a 10k server is if you have a really off-the-wall schedule and need to find groups to accommodate that. Otherwise, you can pretty much get whatever you want on a server with either of these sizes.
The largest servers aren’t all sunshine and rainbows either. I prefer the atmosphere on Grobb to that on Farelina BY FAR (for other reasons as well to be fair, like the wpvp and just people on RP servers being a bit fun and more my style).
Its 8800 (to some internet sources) is on par for alliance mega servers pagle and atiesh as well.
Mankrik is 10K horde as is grob.
Hoping to find some of the horde tonight too. Only did my my death march to SW last night before bed. Tonight I plan to meet horde players sneaking about human land and destroy them. I will most likely be the destroyed as a level 13 however lol.

Faerlina is 25k of a single faction. Benediction is 29k of a single faction.
Grob is 18k of 2 factions. So 9k of each.
Grob is a fine server. But it is not a mega server for either faction. It is, as I stated previously, 3x smaller than the others when you look at faction populations
And with no LFD there are 4-5 total servers that will be able to provide pugs and dungeon groups that don’t take forever to form.
I’m looking forward to blizzard realizing that they’re wrong here and that they’re leaving a ton of money on the table because I have alts I would move off mankrik to benediction or faerlina in a heartbeat.
