Why no dragon takes the form of an orc?

Probably hanging out in the Nexus and still trying to get with his Spirit Healer crush

Though come to think of it, I guess she’s a Kyrian? Surprised nothing came of that in Shadowlands.

Just thought it was weird that he didn’t show up since he’s:

a) not dead, despite my mage looting a wand from him in like 2005 and
b) probably the first world boss ever introduced in WoW, so he has a looooong history with players, and
c) let’s be honest, the writers don’t exactly have a lot of blue dragons to pick from to “save the day”

Good question. My hypothesis is he’s keeping watch over the nexus to make sure a scourge warlord doesn’t move in and start messing with the ley lines.

Never thought about it 🫢

Well, the Orcs aren’t native to Azeroth, and it’s generally always been implied that, while they have a strong army in terms of raw warfare, they probably aren’t massive in terms of numbers. Coupled with Visages being based more on necessity and a need to “blend-in” than any particular desire to “not look like dragons”, there probably just hasn’t been a whole lot of practical reason to take on the form of an Orc.

In all honesty, the same should probably be true of Draenei, as well. It might make sense for the Netherwings to take on those visages, since those are the races that probably make up more of the population remaining in Outland, but for those on Azeroth? Not a whole lot of point.

I mean, the realistic answer is that Blizzard forgot about him.

The eventual canonical one would probably be that he’s responsible for watching the Nexus now.

Tbh, depending on how much the titan keepers have lied to us, that may not necessarily be as bad as one might think.

Blizz brought back Sabellion and the last time anyone interacted with him on a regular basis was BC when we know there were other black dragons still out and about (EG the two at Wrymrest that at least were being amicable towards the mortals and helped out in the nexus war.

Interesting that blizzard would have racism be a defining character trait of there xpac protagonists… narratively could be interesting to explore, it all depends on how blizzard want to setup “the orcs”. Are we abandoning their redemption arc from wc3 onwards?

I think black dragons having orc avatars ( Tuaren :stuck_out_tongue: or other horde races) fits the artistic theme of at face value horde evil, alliance good… and then the subtler oh wait horde are not evil they have nuances and different view points, like society some are evil and immoral at different scales and as players we can decide who is good and bad without Tolkien blanket this race all bad this race all good.

I am 99% certain the Old Gods would still have turn Azeroth into a Dark Titan thus starting a universal apocalpyse that ends all of existance.

All of the Wild Gods would have been destroyed by the Old Gods(as we saw the Old Gods do not like nature). And again, trolls would all be living in a hell scape Azeroth without the Titans ordering the world. Or worse, as slaves to the Old Gods.

Pure propaganda and bald-faced anti-orc prejudice.

Interesting, I suppose that’s not surprising when they’ve been on Outland that long. A human or elf visage would just be weird.

A drakthyr with a Draenei visage is what this game needs.

Orcastraza fan art coming soon

Well I can always use more orcs for my nemesis stuff… just need 290 more of you guys and can have my Orc Slayer Achievement, see ya in Ashran.

Because Orcs and Draenei come from another world, that being Draenor (Argus beforehand for the goats).

And the only dragons that were there, thanks to the Orcs and some evil humans, the Black Dragonflight was able to set up a foothold there, and were the only dragonflight to inhabit another planet, as far as we know.

Later they splintered off due to Draenor exploding, and we got other dragons like the Netherwing as an offshoot from these black dragons.

Old Gods being terrible doesn’t really change who the indigenous species are.

The titan forged were all created from Azeroth herself. And considering her very speaker is Magni I think she considers them her children as much as anyone else.

Also, based on chronicles, all life is a result of the Titans locking up the elementals. So in effect, all biological life was created by the titans.

Unnaturally, they weren’t going to occur without the Pantheon dipping in. Which, to be fair, can be said of Goblins (but not their predecessors) and Dragons (but not their predecessors)

And as my second statement mentioned, all biological life is due to the titans. If not for them, all life on Azeroth would be elemental based. Hence, why Razageth is trying to destroy all of us.

Not for the reason you listed, but indirectly yes. Trolls weren’t designed by the titans, nor intended.
