Why no Broken Allied Race?

It boggles my mind we live in a world where the Alliance has mecha gnomes but none of the draenei who became broken.

While their are not females models yet in game, that could be changed.

Other then the Outland ones, there are the Krokul on Argus.

A great race to play as a shaman.

Do you think we will see them eventually as playable?

No. I’m pretty sure we lost that chance when we got the flashlight goats.

They had a chance to give the Broken from Argus as a void themed race, but Void Elves happened.

Why do you think anyone on the Alliance would be interested in playing a race that isn’t conventionally appealing?
One of the most requested Alliance race is just the most conventionally appealing race, despite already having them but in an odd color.
The reason Draenei look like the way they do no was to appeal to just that.
There will be no Broken or Lost Ones on the Alliance. They’re more likely to get half-elves.

Hell, we went through time and space to recruit the Mag’har way after the fact, I see no reason we can’t do the same to recruit the Krokul.

Too ugly to live.

(Commentary): Truly this is the worst timeline. I wish to live in the good timeline where Garrosh was a great Warchief and not a villain, and the Alliance got Krokul, High Elves, Wildhammer Dwarves, Vykrul, and Ulduar Mechagnomes for Allied Races.

I fail to see the appeal.

Actually Alliance could have:

  • Alleria being the “voucher” for Krokuul Broken to join, as the void-infused race;
  • Lightforged Draenei being customization options unlocked behind a quest to lightforge a regular draenei;
  • Silver Covenant High Elves instead of Void Elves;
  • Wildhammer Dwarves joining instead of LFD;

but hey, that’s just me

Draenei male walk or running animation.

That’s why anyone should want a broken variant, they may walk normally. :laughing:

Nobody wants broken. They’re just complain about LFD and Mechagnomes.

While Broken Draenei could be a feasible Alliance Allied Race, I really don’t want another “ugly” race. We just got 2 in a row while Horde got 2 of their most desired races.

As Allied Race, they would be a waste. We already have lightforged, who are better, as a second draenei.

Argus Broken however should be added as customization options. They share the male draenei model after all.

Pretty sure it was the LF that did them in. VELFs were already going to be a thing to satisfy the “I want a Blood Elf on Alliance” crowd.

Eh… that’s debatable…

No. Pretty races do better than ugly races, that’s observable in game and made pretty obvious.

Lorewise, LF are just stronger and with better fantasy than “Draenei but actually worse”.
One might like them more, but in general LFD were definitely going to please more people/be more popular.

They were more a thing out of necessity because nightborne were already planned and they needed a belf-model in the Alliance as a trade out.

Only if they had given them to the Horde.

They are basically us, with some shiny tattoos, and some less than stellar racials. Bonus to blacksmithing and able to create a forge? Only if they can make some AWESOME stuff that way.

Nope, plain old forge, nothing fancy there.

Then the go and give the exact same thing to Mechas, but make it BETTER.

“You’re a Forge, a Smelter, you have all profession tools, AND you can open lock boxes!”

…seriously?

How about Reduced Holy Damage? Not much of that incoming, so that’s kind of a bust.

20% bonus XP from demons? Great in Legion content, not so much everywhere else. (Shadowlands is going to be GREAT for leveling one though, can’t deny that).

You blow up and do some damage and healing, WHEN YOU DIE? Great, but I have to be DEAD to use that.

Which leaves us with one useful racial. A Holy Strike. Decent, but not great. Regular Draenei have a heal that can be used on anyone for 20% health. I’d argue OUR racial is better than THEIRS.

We have reduced Shadow damage. Lot more of that around.

An ability that boosts out main stat. Not great, but useful.

And Gemcutting. Lets us get to the good stuff in JC faster (not that JC has had a good run these last few xpacs though, but still better than BLACKSMITHING has had).

Draenei are superior to Lightforged in every way.

Lorewise, Broken could have been better than them as well, because they had to survive with the Legion around and some of them had to deal with Illidan and his earlier nonsense. The mere fact that they survived harsher environments could have provided FAR better racials overall.

I’ll never debate this point.

Blood Elves shot to the top of ALL races before TBC was even closed and have stayed there ever since.

I wish I could play a Broken like that in the picture, except with actual arms.

I think we would have, when that content was current (or we would have got them INSTEAD of Lightforged Draenei. )

People don’t like to play “uglies”, for the most part.

Yes, partially because of the cries for an Alliance “High Elf.” They underestimated the ability of Wow players to never be satisfied :wink:

Ultimately I think a lot of people would complain about Broken.

“OMG Horde got this awesome unique (insert something cool like Naga here), while we got mutated melted face draenei? WTF Blizz! Horde favoritism!”
