Why must I PvE to do better in PvP? 😡

This never happened, pvp gear had set bonus’s that made pve gear irrelevant competely in pvp. The only time i used pve gear in pvp before Ion was in TBC was when i hit resil cap, Hyjal had a better weapon for spell power.

I agree, OP. I think I’ve given up on PvP for the rest of this expansion.

We need to go back to the WOD model where PvP gear was best for PvP, and PvE gear was best for PvE. PvP gear scaled up in PvP combat.

Just to show how much I never PvE’d on my PvP character in WOD — I was healing a WOD TW dungeon and got the Heroic achievement at the end because I never ran it even once on that character back in WOD. I ran it many times on my main (PvE character).

It begs the question how things would’ve turned out had this system been in reverse. Imagine having players needing to do PvP content to acquire gear for Raiding in BFA… It’s absurd there would be backlash! Pure and simple.

No, it happened because you didn’t get the drop you needed in raid, so you pvp logged to get the slot you want. Many times in my raiding career ive rocked a gladiators weapon.

I agree pvp was the main source of gear but there were certainly some periods of using pve gear throughout the expansions. I was just getting it out the way before some big brain poster mentions something like warglaives, cata dragonsoul trinkets, shadowmourne anything like that as if it was the norm.

That is just forcing us to play how they want rather than letting us play the way we want. Everything Blizzard does now is micromanaging our time overall. They want us to play their game the way they want when it used to not really be like that, at all.

This hit the nail right on the head. Blizzard is pigeonholing the playerbase into the devs’ very specific type of play instead of just letting us do what we want.

For the majority of the games life, you could be fully geared doing nothing but pvp. The gear provided from PvP was, for the most part, was the best gear you could get for PvP. Even after resilience was removed, the gear provided from PvP was competitive with the gear provided from PvE.

There has been times where PvE gear was very good in arena and RBGs, but this wasn’t enough to prevent player from progressing in PvP.

No it hasnt, once you reach max lvl, from Vanilla to WoD, you could just do PvP and get gear from it.
