I’m not saying that the stories in World of Warcraft were created as an allusion to real world politics, but as I’ve kindly pointed out in other threads, no story is ever created in a vacuum.

War and genocide in the story do not represent anything. Blizzard literally toted their new LGBTQ story as representation. Players are asking for more representation. There have already been non straight characters in the game long before this. Never heard any complaints before this because it’s not just supposed to be organic and a part of the story. It’s a token.

It appears the indication or belief of Shieldbash is that a woman is biologically born.

Because players like Shieldbash can’t think outside their own bubble. They probably live in a deep south state with harmful views of the LGBT community and probably never left that type of enviroment. I’m going to assume Shieldbash has never even met a Trans person or anyone of LGBT for that matter. It’s deep seeded ignorant hatred that fuels them and until they get an education (which is hard to come by in the south), nothing will change for them. It’s sad.

Transforming or becoming to another gender isn’t the same context as a young boy or man cosplaying as Spiderman.

Becoming a woman won’t magically give you superpowers, but it DOES not hurt because it helps people relieve their gender dysphoria.

Should we just tell the trans woman to stay as a man? I don’t think she will have a better time managing mental illnesses.

They could write that but it would also make it less believable(not that WoW does long lived races terribly well).

My point was mostly that realistically(and yes, this matters to a point even in a fantasy setting where I can shoot lightning from my hands) speaking a long lived race is just going to have an extremely low sex drive and probably view sex and romantic relationships in general very differently from how we Humans do.

Which personally I’d find more interesting than “They’re as sex crazed as us, but mostly gay/bi”.

We already did that with the Asari in Mass Effect and even old school BioWare couldn’t make that not feel like pandering.
