Why LGBT representation in games matters:

To be honest this kind of nonsense phrase does not help. Should people be given the same human rights as everyone else despite having gender dysphoria? Yes, absolutely.

Should you blindly ignore biological reality to the point it harms the individual, data collection and other groups? No.

Can I ask.

Would you then be happy to give a trans woman the same blood donations as biological women? Or put the same restrictions on it as you would donations for men?

Because if you would, if you think identity affirmation matters more than any practicalities ever, you would actively kill or seriously harm them.

Writing changes. Characters grow. Andin is Bi, didn’t you know?

Nah, author says he likes girls, period.

Move on, he is straight.

What’s your point? Are you saying Blizzard shouldn’t add more LGBT representation because there are more straight people than those of LGBT?

UMM Those are my new dads? So no, I’d never forget them???

It actually is if you’re trying to say that the assumption is that someone is a group of the overwhelming majority.

Nope he isn’t. Writer for him is the authority
Not you or anyone else

Nobody cares what your Sexual Preferences are, and nobody gives a hoot about it in a game about Orcs!

Yes.

There’s no point in trying to argue with me. You won’t like me.

How does that make any sense. You are saying you don’t mind adding gay characters as long as the idea is not “because of gay”? I’m so confused. If this is how you think, it’s no wonder you are so confused and filled with hatred.

You assume alot little troll.

I’ll put it in small words so you can understand.

Blizzard can add any character they want but to add a character simply to say “hey this character is gay. See how gay they are” is pandering to the lowest common denominator.

The forums are here to have a discussion so I will. It seems pretty short-sighted to not add LGBT representation because there are more straight people. Should we just act like LGBT don’t exist and never bother to make more characters or stories?

But why just them?

I like you

This thread is discussing LGBT representation and its importance. The LGBT are a real community and they should be shown in all forms of entertainment, like video games. I am showing my support for this thread as a member of this community.

uh oh, found the transphobe <3

If that is you’re logic.

Then it’s okay if trans women can’t give birth. Most women can’t give birth either.

Some women don’t even have exact XX chromosomes, but that hasn’t stop them from living like a woman.

And trans women do surgical procedures and hormone therapy to match their cis sisters. And a big majority of the time, it works!

Hard to see because the media loves to put in recently transitioned transgender instead of fully transitioned and beautiful transgender women.

Keep you’re transphobia out of here.

I would be fine to not include it at all.

I’m willing to compromise with the idea of giving it representation in Azeroth proportionate to real life, however.

Why should they be shown in “all forms” of entertainment?

Maybe for you. What a weird thing to say. Why does it matter to you so much? Why do you have to know what their sexual preference is?

I don’t interact with a character and immediately wonder if they are gay or just flamboyant. It doesn’t matter. I don’t need to assume their gender anymore then I need to assume their sexual preference. It doesn’t matter. It shouldn’t matter.

If the lore has gotten to a point that this is what’s important, then we have lost the point of the game. I have been playing warcraft games since I was a kid… 25 some years ago and it was supposed to be about humans and orcs duking it out… not about what Zug the peon likes sexually speaking. Characters should be built so that everyone, no matter their background can identify with them.

Aggra was a terrible addition to the story. This game isn’t and shouldn’t be about love stories.

Most women can’t give birth? Are you counting the pre and post menopausal to make that crazy comment?
