Why LFD is bad

Debatable. I’ve had people quit out of dungeons because they stood in fire (Death and Decay) and died, and realized Druid healers don’t have a standard, out of combat, cooldown free rez. TK dungeons are pretty far out of the way.

If I may offer counterpoint. If there was no teleporting players would be flying or taking a flight master as close as they can in order to use the summoning stone to summon others. In a pvp server this might be part of the thrill but for those on pve servers it changes nothing other than saving time for players.

Just my opinion but LFD was a convenient way for people that don’t get to play very much run some dungeons. I enjoy LFD, and always have. I don’t que back to back. But again to me it’s a nice addition. Nothing lazy there.

I don’t mind LFD so long as it doesn’t teleport players to dungeon.

See, this sort of stuff is the problem. People are too accepting of the scraps blizzard decides to give us are while ignoring the fact that blizzard removed dungeon finder in the first place for the benefit of their profits (see boosts), and not for the benefit of the community.

Blizzards little spiel about “We’ve heard from our Classic community that the importance of social bonds is a big part of what makes Classic their game of choice, and we agree.” was a load of corporate propaganda and so many people fell for it.

Blizzard doesn’t care about you.

Blizzard hasn’t heard you. I mean come on, those who don’t want LFD are the minority by a long shot.

Blizzard is pushing that sweet boost money and thats all that matters to them. The yays and nays going back and forth about LFD plays right up blizzards alley because its distracts the players from the fact that blizzard played them like a fiddle.

You’ve been had. You’ve been played.

Teleporting doesn’t harm anyone, flying to the dungeon doesn’t make it more social. The entire social aspect of the game is gone and wpvp is a joke. Nobody pvps in the open world anyway. Lfd was nothing but good for the game and what killed it was the min max mentality and the addition of different dungeon and raid tiers.

Been there, done that, and with 3 additional realms to boot! It was a great change that Blizz should have implemented sooner.

Can’t level alts in a BG so it has no effect on their boost sales income…. Working as intended.

A better solution would be to get rid of wpvp so they dont have to gimp the game over the imaginary problems of the 3 people that still wpvp.

  1. you can’t even use it for heroics initially, people will HAVE to walk to dungeons at first, IF dungeon finder was in at release

  2. World PVP? the populations and faction balance on all but 1 server are 99.6 : 0.4 ??

Travelling to the dungeon is one of the if not the most insignificant aspects of WoW

Yes, I’m not remotely interested in 8-12 hour queues during peak hours to log in for the sake of “world pvp” what a stupid idea lol

it would just be toxic, as classic world pvp ranking showcased on Faerlina lol if you think having to corpse run /camped across an entire zone just to enter a dungeon or raid is fun / engaging / desired amongst the community you are just detached from the reality of the situation.

World pvp has its place and was fun to a certain degree, it’s clearly not what people want to do though otherwise people wouldnt be forming these 99.6% dominated servers. We definitely should not be trying to make drastic changes to try to force world pvp onto us.

Another way of saying…“Your argument is devastating to my case, therefore I’m going to simply ignore it and say it’s not relevant.”

Standard WoW forum behavior.

The only reason why servers became 1 sided is because Alliance fled, very disappointed with Alliance in that regard and also disappointed that the majority of PvPers went Horde.

Only server worth playing now for wpvp is Grobb I’ve discovered.

Wpvp is dead, face it. Always was crap anyways

It’s not dead on Grobb and it wouldn’t be dead on Benediction and Faerlina if they got crz’ed together.

Like I said no one or very little are interested in WPVP after what transpired in regards to world pvp on Faerlina. It’s not fun to walk across an entire zone being ganked, then respawning as far over towards the direction you are trying to go to and repeating the cycle and running back and forth for hours on end. Both factions were “guilty” of running to the mega server after classic we had enough of it.

I can’t speak for grob personally i’m sure it aint all roses, and after a quick check it isn’t it’s also a RP Server and the majority of it just defending raid entry, nothing fun in that.

Again, forcing benediction with faerlina is not even close to a smart idea the queue times would be absolutely unacceptable, especially when factoring in people coming back, or newly arriving to Wrath of the Lich King.

Alliance aren’t very good at banding together to defeat Horde zerg camps so they flee to other servers when really Alliance who avoid wpvp might as well have rolled on PvE servers from the start.

You could crz Faerlina and Benediction if they layered the population via sharding which would also help maintain balance.

The people on here saying LFD takes away from wpvp couldn’t be any more clueless.

The people who actually like wpvp, and when I say that I mean real wpvp (with reasons to do so) are few and far between.

Want proof? Literally just look at all of the tbc servers faction pop. People don’t want to wpvp, people don’t want to pvp in general. They roll on pvp servers to appear to not be weak or because they’re just following the crowd. Server transfers proved this. The RP server is the only exception to the rule because of RP.

If blizzard does nothing about wintergrasp then there just won’t be a wintergrasp. They will be forced to implement crz for it.

LFD does nothing for immersion as long as there are flying mounts in the game. The real classic killers are flying mounts and LFR. Not LFD.

that’s not how classic MMOs are supposed to work
in a classic MMO, if you want something, you need to put in TIME to get it
and yes, that time includes the traveling from your current location to the dungeon, unless you are lucky enough for two of the party members to already be at the summoning stone. unfortunately, that does not happen always.

catering to those who don’t have time is how WoW gets turned into a glorified phone game, i.e. retail.

right now SoM is in the pre-AQ stage, and it’s just breath-taking how much time is involved in the main quest line. so much time that the only way to get it done is with a whole guild’s worth of help. this is the spirit of classic. the time investment. you can’t stop chipping away at it in the name of convenience.
