Why it so hard report players

Blizzard actually does care, and even for us Aussies, we’re also subjected to the same Code of Conduct/EULA and other policies as everyone else from other parts of the world.

With that being said, you don’t know what action Blizzard may have taken. And yes, sometimes, people would still revert the name after being forced a name change, including guild names. Only thing you can do is to report the guild.

And just so you’re aware, people who revert the name change back after being forced a name change are likely to receive possible suspensions, and in this case, a guild master for those actions.

But just report. That is all that can be done. But everyone is subject to the same rules, the same Code of Conduct, the same End User License Agreement, as everyone else, regardless of location.

It’s not the best way to report things, but sometimes for whatever reason we just can’t click-report. Sadly it doesn’t give a data snapshot like an in-game report does though. Just try to provide as much info while keeping it simple

Understand though, that the hacks email is only for reporting players who are hacking, cheating or exploiting really. It’s not a means to report inappropriate names, guild names or guild ranks.

For a guild name, you’ll need to right-click and report the the name of a player’s character who is in the guild. If you’ve joined the guild, then this option may not be available. Simply leave the guild and report any player from that guild for their guild name (right-click, report name, choose the guild name option).

As for the ranks within the guild, that may or may not be actionable. Guilds are considered ‘at-will’. Meaning, if you’ve joined a guild that you don’t want to be a part of, leave the guild.

It’s like guild chat. Guild chat is not as heavily enforced since you choose which guild to be a member of. Don’t like the guild or their chat? Leave the guild and do not rejoin it. While you can indeed report inappropriate chat within guild chat, it’s not the same as reporting players using inappropriate language in a public setting.

TL;DR:

The hacks email is only for reporting hacking, cheating, or exploiting—not for inappropriate names, guild names, or ranks. To report a guild name, right-click a player’s character from that guild and select the report option (leave the guild first if needed). Guild ranks may not be actionable since guilds are ‘at-will’—if you don’t like a guild’s ranks or chat, leave and don’t rejoin. Guild chat is less strictly moderated than public chat because players choose to be in a guild.
