Why isn't sylvanas allowed to die?

The only use of punishment is as a deterrent. Beyond that, nobody deserves it. Given nobody even knew about the Maw nor will be very aware of this, it is pointless.

The Maw is for The worst of the Worst, those that could be a threat to the ShadowLands, Reality itself, and those that cannot be purged of there sins in Ravendreth.

She checks all 3.

And the torture aspect of the Maw is pointless. It need not be present or supported.

Knowing you’d have to relive the worst experience of your life repeatedly for eternity would be a helluva a deterrant.

Where in the lore is it stated that her sins can’t be removed in Revendreth?

:cactus:

I already addressed that.

But now we do Know of it, and letting it serve its purpose would be very informative for everyone.

We the heroes know, but not the world at large. The heroes are never at risk of falling to that because we do not have a choice about the story.

There’s also an aspect where if a punishment is too harsh, it actually makes wrongdoers double down harder than before. Because they know they have nothing to lose at a certain point.

Your counterpoints are borderline nonsensical.

The Maw was created for the purpose I stated, which was stated in Lore, and has served that purpose known or unknown since the Dawn of Time in universe apparently.

Therefore she deserves to be stuck there being tormented for all time.

Because your other points hinge on this.

:cactus:

That’s not really an argument.

The Maw was not created as a deterrent. It was created as a prison (as you say) that also happens to torture people. The torture is pointless.

Also, this is mostly a veiled appeal to tradition. Just because something has always been a certain way does not make it good. We can logically analyze the torture as not useful.

I’m not arguing she shouldn’t be imprisoned. I am saying she doesn’t need to be tortured. You’ve been unable to give a good reason for eternal torture.

Even if they can.

The fact that has become a threat to both the Shadowlands, and Reality itself precludes any sort of redemption.

i disagree, you see, im going to kill a vampire that is opressing those poor people, causing the anima drought that is killing the souls on ardenweald, its giving me a revenge-on and i cant wait to use it on him.

The revenge seems secondary to the good done by removing him.
I guess if you personally feel better, that’s fine. But more-so the revenge by itself.

If her sins are removed the other 2 points are null. Therefor, according to your criteria, she doesn’t deserve the Maw.

:cactus:

But you Intentionally seem to forget.

Disrupting the Natural Order of the Shadowlands = Auto Maw’d.

As I stated:

Because she is no longer a threat.

:cactus:

seem secondary to who?

Negative.

In Lore she was already destined for the Maw.

Go read the Shortstory where she kills herself post Ice Crown.

She was already going there regardless.

She just confirmed her spot with her more recent actions.
