Why isn't layering gone?

Everything you said is 100% incorrect as there is literally 100s of hours of streamed information to prove you incorrect.

Streamers used layering to avoid pvp A LOT while leveling so we can only assume many others did as well.

Layering literally changed economies how we knew and understood them from classic 12+ years ago. The economies are night and day in comparison. The amount of Layering abuse that went on absolutely effects my game play. Hell just the amount of Layering abuse that was “Streamed” effects it.

Great point about layering guy. Hey I saw a video of a guy abusing and exploiting. BUT its completely okay because YOU CAN DO IT TO!!!

TLDR: You’re an idiot

Come now, it’s right in this interview, where he says that reason they implemented layering is because the servers can’t handle large populations otherwise:

Either that, or he said it’s because they don’t want to have 1000 people in a single region fighting over the same spawns. One of the two . . .

Layering won’t be gone until every server can handle 1 single layer of players.

That means every High/Full server needs to shave off a lot of its population somehow to get down to medium or low pop.

Blizzard thought people would get bored and leave on their own.

They were wrong.

That is due to their hubris and thinking that they know what we find enjoyable about the game and what we dislike about it… Blizzard…you guys have lost touch with the player base a long time ago and you don’t have a clue…

“You THINK you do, but you don’t”

Time to swallow your pride and accept the fact that current WoW is hot garbage and start making some drastic changes to retail if you EVER hope to compete with Classic on active player counts, because otherwise, nobody but the diehard retail fanbois will ever buy another expansion and just pay their sub for Classic

Hmm… Maybe there is a need for them that you haven’t considered?

Because its not phase 2.

Well, it kinda depends when phase 2 comes out.

Thank you for this.

Gonna be funny when they actually drop around 2.5k - 3k cause everyone bored of phase 1. THen they turn of layering and introduce phase 2 and suddenly its 8k again.

On the alliance heavy server of Atiesh, if layering were suddenly removed and if the player cap were not simultaneously greatly lowered I would be looking at major economy-wide hyperinflation due to so many people attempting to share a pool of resources programmed to provide for a much smaller population. At that point the players who have somehow profited off layer exploits would have a major advantage in being able to buy what they need. Also those players who’ve been playing the AH game from the first week on are likely rich enough to have a good time.

If layering were suddenly removed while at the same time greatly lowering the player cap then we’d have some really un-fun log in queues but the economy would likely continue to develop as nicely as it has been doing.

Lmao no. It will MOST LIKELY be gone by phase 2 they said. They did say hopefully gone by phase 2 sooo even that might not happen. Hush and deal with it. Nothing to be done.

I mean considering how big of jerks you guys in grizzly are on the Stalagg discords, i’m not surprised the alliance on your server dipped, you’re probably worse in Trade.

Omg quit saying layers will effect que. It will not!
It only makes it how it used to be and supposed to be where everyone is on the same damn instance/version of the world.
Get rid of the multiverse…

They’re actually in a catch-22. They wanted to wait until they could do away with layering before releasing World Bosses. As long as there are layers, they don’t want to release them, but if they do release the World Bosses, they’ll have to reimplement layers anyway. Unless they take some sort of third option.

Layers and World Bosses are going to be a disaster. Guilds are going to layer-hop to chain kill them over and over in a single session.

Blizzard is going have to create some new type of lockout for them.

Faerlina is probably the highest pop server and we could handle double the people in most zones.

if there’s no queue to log on to the server, there’s no need for layering.

In much the same way that if there’s been no traffic accidents at an intersection, there’s no need for traffic lights.

You know all of this crap, the layer abuse, the damage to the economy the impossible situation of hoping players quit the game and then remove layering vs having the spike again with their new phase could have been avoided, if they just reintroduced layerfree servers with the intention to merge em once they drop under a certain threshold.

The only “losers” would have been players aiming for a specific toon name. But no, rather screw it up like we are used to.

They said before phase 2. The two week thing is something the forum community made up.
