Thought it would be after the first 2 weeks?
- City raids happening on a different layer
- Have to invite people to group to pick locks in cities on a different layer
- World feels a bit empty now
- People still finding new exploits?
- Ruining the economy
- layer cooldowns for questing groups or parties that disband
There’s no more need for layers so why has blizzard kept them around still??

Maybe there’s still a need for them you aren’t thinking of?

Depends on the server… some still need layering.

Severs have many times more people than they can handle without layers. If layer disappeared then queues would be massive on every server.
To lay it out there-- I hate that layering was added to the game. Blizzard gambled and assumed that it wouldn’t be as popular as it is. So here we are.

Yeah I’ve noticed that when I group with my kid, we phase all over the place.
Layering needs to go.

Oh so you don’t phase to another layer when you pull in another person for something?
What’s the thing that’s happening when the new group member phases in and other people phase out? The layering change process? Thanks.

No. You don’t. When joining groups people change to the leaders layer. Inviting more people does not change your layer, it does not make you “phase all over the place”. You stay in your layer until you join someone elses group.

Yeah, check out this city raid we did and how few horde showed up even though the faction balance is 80 : 20 on stalagg thanks to the unlocked faction free xfers.
Layering isn’t getting shutoff until each server is 2500 concurrent players at peak, the legion client / server tech just can’t handle the same load as the original vanilla game. Dudes from russia working with 15 year old tech could make it work but not blizz.

To my knowledge Blizzard promised layering would be gone by phase 2. Not week 2.

Well it’s not phase 2 yet. That’s why it’s not gone yet. Slow down. Smell some Doomweed.
We don’t need to rush this.

Layering is such a big deal, I was actually surprised that people brush it off as nothing. It ruined the economy 100% “but its gonna get stable eventually”. yeah… and let’s forget whom profited by farming and selling during phase 1.
Must be 50% of a server entire wealth in a few people but that’s normal.
To me it’s similar to Netherwing BC private server, they were crashing the server after every instance to reset and farm. But its juuuust simple crashes you guys are docile and naive.
Theyve already made their money, gone now makes no difference.

Layering is still here because the sheer combined might of Azeroth’s forces are too powerful for the servers to handle.
Our population must be weakened for those bonds to be broken.

They originally said few weeks to couple months. Im giving them until around blizzcon
I hate layering as much as the next player but Blizzard has said they are committed to removing it by phase 2 so we just have to wait.

Pretty much this. If there are enough people on your server that layering is needed, then you have layering.
For those that are small enough, or whose population drops low enough at off-peak times, there aren’t any layers.
I know that on my server, there’s frequently no other layers unless it’s weekends or primetime.
You do you. Good luck with that. Personally, I’m fine with whatever as long as it’s gone by phase 2.
Leveling was difficult enough with layering. I can’t even imagine what it would have been without it.

It would be as an mmo should be: a social experience.
