Well I have made Ion sick of the story , but for the benefit of people that don’t know me , I will retell the story: The Farmers grange is basically and old converted barn where the local farmers would meet and my town has grown dramatically , so now there is a Walmart supercenter behind it, anyway they had a book sale and for 50 whole cents I bought an extremely old book with Appalchian mountain stories called American Folk and fairy tales. In it , one of the stories has a character named Tony Beaver and he played music on his fiddle that nobody could resist dancing to and it was called Bigmusic.
So I entered that in the name field for my druid, thinking nobody else could possibly have that name and at the time I was not aware of any music festival, event , or record studio , with that name and it was purely spur of the moment , first thing that popped in my head.
Originally it was Grizzlee for bear meme
Then when i changed servers the name was taken and rather than be Grizzleex i just took the second E off
Named after Walker Boh the one armed druid from the Shannara universe.
Yea I know I’m not a druid; I chose a blood elf warlock as Walker Boh has elf blood and was a magic caster.
i’m so dead
Zinobeia here was named after a character in a nice obscure video fame on PS1 called “Lunar”.
She’s named after one of the main villains, Xenobia of the Vile Tribe.
I wanted to name my Drakthyr Ophiuchus like the constellation meaning “serpent-bearer” because the old alternative name for the constellation was Serpentarius and was kind of on the nose, but it was taken.
SO I went with Oreboros… Oreb/Orev meaning raven or crow in ancient Hebrew and Boros from Ouroboros the alchemical symbol of the snake biting its tail. Made my Evoker an alchemist obviously lol!
Was going to use Dragon names but to be honest I find Drakthyr resemble more winged snakes and skinny lizards than any kind of Dragons. Maybe I’ll change its name when we get more Drakonid customization options.
I also had a few names I wanted to use like, *Archaeopteryx (German name "Urvogel "), Anchiornis, Xiaotingia, and Aurornis’ that are basically Primeval Bird or dinosaurs with feathers but seems the Drakthyr had no “feather customizations” and in WoW Phoenixes are mostly Elemental in Nature semi-intelligent with no connection to the Primal Dragons unlike Dinosaurs and the modern birds, so I drop it.
However, I might change my mind later if they add the feathers though! Got my Fieryfeather Regalia waiting for it just in case! ![]()
A two book series by Ari Marmell- The Warlord’s Legacy.
The character in question was a cannibalistic witch of the wilds.
That’s just a fun little aside, Seilloah here is a vegetarian.
pair of demon hunter legs drops in tomb of sargeras called caustic titanspite legguards and i like the name titanspite.
It was hard finding a name for a dk that wasn’t already taken. I ended up combining what already existed to something that could fit the fantasy and took two names and fused them together : Revenant+Knight=Reveknight
I just started naming my characters after words that I like the sound of.
Lugubrious.
Mucilaginous.
Slurry.
Loathsome.
Someone gave me the nickname Xanatos (which is a banned name in Roblox btw) a long time ago. And Xan was my short name. They called me silly names like Santa’s Toes.
Then I started reading WoT. Xan became Saan for Saángreal.

Back in 2003, I bought Everquest Online Adventures for my PS2.
I wasnted to make a Orge warrior. I was going through the random name
generator. Came across one that after removing a few letters. I came up
with the name Mursh. So, my Ogre warrior became Mursh.
When i started playing WoW in Jan. 2007. I made my first character
a Tauren warrior. So, I also named him Mursh.
Because I’m three fries short of a Happy Meal.
Mizzrym was taken. ![]()
Might give that game a try someday…i start hearing it often
I did at least read the books that particular character comes from. He’s one of my faves.
My Paladin is named Rhyld. Taken from Ryld from the same series.
You’re a fan ![]()
Yeah can’t lie.
Those are the only two I pilfered from that particular series though. Plenty of others!
Warrior: Avaeris. My first DK made during Wrath is named Vyraelis, which is a mutation of the latin word for “virulant,” based on the diseases DKs use. Avaeris waa the result of me playing with the name Vyraelis, moving some letters around, removing some other letters until I came up wiht something I liked
Druid: Tsunzsu: The Art of War.
Mage: Jenesaispas: Couldn’t think of a name so I wrote “I don’t know” but in French.
Priest: Acerglyn: An acerglyn is a maple mead (acer = maple, glyn = mead)
Evoker: Lucystrazsa: It’s Lucy with a WOW dragonstyle ending
Warlock: Zandramas: The antagonist of David Edding’s Mallorean series
Paladin: Lucille: I just like the name Lucille
Demon Hunter: Chorelle: Made it up
Hunter: Shootymcgee: Silly name for a hunter
Monk: Rossalyn: Another favorite name of mine, comes from Rosalyn, the babysitter in Calvin and Hobbes
Death Knight: Frostlilly: Just liked it for a DK
Rogue: Suzieque:
Shaman: Shocklates: Play on the word “Chocolates”
My forum toon? Speaks for itself.
My Timerunning Hunter: Imbluedabode: She’s a blue skinned troll. And it’s as much of “I’m blue da bo dee da bo dye” that I was allowed to type into the box.
My original main was a blood elf paladin named Orissa. She still exists. While Orissa is a state in India, that’s a coincidence, I didn’t know that until after I made the character. People have asked me if I’m Indian because of that. I’m not. Random name generator gave me Orissan, I deleted the “n”
