Why is wow PvP garbage? We know it's not good. List them here

I’m going to say, Mages. why do they need to steal freedom and blessing of protection? They’re already UNTOUCHABLE. THEY HAD ALTER TIME WHY GIVE THEM DISPLACEMENT? AND KNOCK backs that SLOWS, when they have a SLOW and 2, blinks like we know the devs play mages. CHILLLLLLLL WITH THE MAGE BUFF.

List your reason why Wow PVP is garbage.

because blizzard needed to artificially deflate rss to 3200 and artificially inflate 3s up to 3200 instead deflated them both 1100 points.

I’ll say this repeatedly - this is in my opinion the best pvp has been since WoD. There will always be unbalanced specs, but there doesn’t appear to be just massive outliers at the moment. The speed feels good. The best gear has probably ever been. We have an entire new game mode.

The only issue i have is just queue times, and deflation. Both of which have to little to do with classes and or balance.

0 rewards/trash mmr/unfun gameplay for healing classes simply translates into no healers and no healers no game, simple.

Honestly the playstyle of most specs right now is just really lame. Specs are either hyper mobile, hyper oppressive, or unkillable. Or sometimes all 3.
Also giving casters precog and nerfing kicks at the same time was a terrible idea.

There’s been certainly better seasons but we can say ranked has always been the product Blizz pays the least amount of attention to when compared to Raids/M+.

Here’s some takes that make WoW PvP unappealing for old and new in arena setting.

  • Entry point for new players straight out sucks, learning curve is steep and requires PHD in WoW to be efficient. This hurts the population for pvp because you have the same sweat lords playing at top and no new blood coming in.

  • RSS is a blessing and a curse for reasons we already know why.

  • Blizz takes too long to address over-performance / imbalances. (ex: The Armageddon of Ret should have never happened in S1)

  • Speaking of Blizz, there’s a lack of communication directly to the PvP community. Although I do wonder if they did speak to the community would it even be a positive thing? Half the time people are at each’s others throats and complaining about certain classes when a good portion of the time it’s a skill issue.

A monk complaining about mobility. You can’t make this stuff up. Also, I thought only person who can apply instant paralysis from 20 yards is John Wick.

Of course not. You guys should be allowed to dominate all without consequences. Everyone else though…nerf please.

Amen.

Yeah it puzzles me that they took forever to address it. Other rets were enabling the idea of it as if it was their birth right  I didn’t even play my ret because I was done with him that season but I was playing other alts and it was just gross. Granted I believe every class has it’s time to shine but not in a way where you had rets who back pedal , bubble roots, clueless on how to use utilities and win games with their eyes closed.

Balance is not even top 5 reasons why WoW PvP sucks and almost never has been.

  • Addons creating advantageous amounts of combat information given to the player

  • Time investment from gear to gold + enchants + honor grinding + conquest grinding+ tier + more

  • Barrier to entry from the game itself and artificial barriers set by the community

  • Pathetic outdated piece of trash for a LFG system

  • Healers bottlenecking content and creating extremely long que times by virtue of being a requirement yet wildly unpopular role.

  • Basic quality of life/common sense features missing such as queing cross faction random BGs with friends

  • Arbitrary skill thresholds regarding ranged vs melee, making casters feel awful to play at a lower skill levels or casual experience.

  • Lack of consistency regarding broadcasting of dynamic tooltips, PvP only changes, and patch notes in general. Making the only way to stay up to date on what changes or is new require you to check either 3rd party sources such as Wowhead or Twitter constantly

Legitimately feels pointless to complain about balance to me when even in an unrealistic perfect world where all 13 classes and all specs and all talents were all perfectly equally viable, the game still has a million things making it worse.

Everyone def deserves a time to shine but we are not OP against all classes. Ret players then could kill virtually anyone they wanted by switching a few talents in their tree increasing heals or melee range or something. I don’t feel that is the case with other classes. There isnt anything in the arcane tree that will save me from sniper shot/rapid fire/chakram/explosive shot/kill shot dead combo.

Mages just counter warriors, sub rogues, rets because they have mobility where you can’t swamp them.

Meanwhile, my elemental shaman…just yum yum them up but against 2 of any melee in arena… it’s just a train of interrupts on multiple schools of magic and instant cc/stuns as an indirect interrupt. Which is why you don’t see them going “SHAMANS grrr nerf”

I don’t know what the OP problem is but mobility shouldn’t be a concern to a monk.

That part. PvP addons are atrocious.

Wow pvp is pretty unique in the space. Saying it’s garbage doesn’t make sense. Could it be better, sure… but that’s relative to what we know.

If there were anything even close in this space that could compete with it, I’d be all for giving it a try.

Mentioned this in another post already so sorry if you are re-reading this. The pacing feels terrible right now, it is simultaneously too fast and too slow at the same time. The time to 100-0 somebody seems too short and the time top them back off from being nearly dead is also too short. In low mmr somebody is usually getting deleted without appropriate response, and then I am finding in the 18-1900 area people aren’t dying until very late in games. CC can be really hit or miss right now too, sometimes you will put a healer in a massive CC chain and if your burst isn’t up nothing is dying, and other times you can delete people while the healer is in like a gouge.

if pvp was actually good, you wouldn’t see the mass exodus from pvp as you are now, no one wants to participate in an unfun and unbalanced game. period.

fact, but rewards are not the reason the game is unfun for them or anyone else. Damage and pacing is.

People have been saying this for the last decade. What mass exodus?

“Trust me bro”

I really wish they would get rid of all the hidden profile alts on the forums. In a game where we are already anonymous, they want people to be even MORE anonymous on the forums. Makes no sense. I really with they had moved forward with linking your bnet to your forum handle.

Yeah, btags would be nice for all but the most dedicated who sub a second account. I looked this fellow up a while ago and it’s basically what you’d expect.

It’s not even worth the time/effort to dig usually.

Yea, used to be easier todo that. :frowning:

Having even basic tools to keep players accountable would really make the discussion more fruitful.
