Why is this wildercloth fishing hat not profession equipment?

other professions have 2 slots where you can put profession equipment…

but fishing only has 1?

is this an oversight? shouldn’t I be able to have a slot for the fishing profession just for fishing hat?

Think it’s due to existing fishing equipment.

Some of it wasn’t super easy to get and it would be tricky to keep it and not invalidate it or make it over powered because you would have a dual path to equip profession equipment.

I think they should add a slot for a fishing hat to be added.

It’s probably because a number of fishing hats have on use abilities, and making them profession equipment might break them (see also, the artifact.)

I suspect they ran into technical problems that proved too messy to untangle with the time available. In Dragonflight beta fishing hats were briefly made into profession equipment, but the existing fishing hats with on-use abilities broke … and then the game just started eating hats … then the whole thing was dropped and fishing hats were left the way they are.
