Unlike other professions (cooking, herb, alch), Cooking is missing a slot for the Wildercloth Fishing Hat. This forces the player to manually put it on. I believe this is a bug because this hat is a quest reward in a quest where several other hats are given which have their own slots.
Nor Nat’s Drinking Hat, or Boots of Booty Bay.

I agree. Fishing needs a couple more slots for my Fishing Skill Hat.
Currently Fishing only has one profession equipment slot. At least a second slot would be reasonable for fishing hats. Some even have Boots of Booty Bay and Fishing Trinkets, but those are not as common.

Yes! This desperately needs to be fixed. Makes no sense.
There is also a bug if you accidentally transmog with your hat still on it will sometimes forever transmog your fishing hat. 
Please give us a fishing hat slot!
We are going into the second expansion now with this issue, and I haven’t seen an official post that tells me this is working as intended. I have to imagine there is some technical reason at this point, but I am still going to note the issue.
The same issue still persists.
There has never been a slot for the fishing hat, which is honestly a horrible oversight. I can’t believe that the lack of a slot is really ‘intended’ and really ought to be corrected.
