By the Light, this thread has… gone to some very dark places indeed.
Ive not watched it as the whole premise doesn’t appeal to me but it seems to have a following. It isnt something that is mocked more then it is viewed like the " de took er jobz" scene in rings of power or the acolytes " power of one, power of two," chant.
Or whatever the halo show is supposed to be.
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire isn’t widely mocked neither, but it’s still bad too.
Obviously, we have different opinions on this, but I am highly skeptical of the idea that any company sinks millions of dollars into bad shows simply because of diversity.
Bad shows and big-budget flops have always existed. A diverse cast is just the popular thing for certain groups to point out now when back in the day, we just blamed the writing and the actors.
Youd think the mods would do the job for which they are paid by now considering how long this has been going on for
have you guys ever thought about how futile all this arguing even is at any point? Nobody is going to change their minds here.
You haven’t heard of BlackRock, Vanguard, nor ESG scores then have you?
I’m 83.333% sure this is bait, but I agree with the sentiment of wishing there was a pride event with cosmetics. Runescape does an event with wonderful cosmetics. I would love various pride flag tabards or sock transmogs. I guess the beach chair from trading post will have to do for now, it is very pretty though truth be told
Story was meh but it was entertaining and that’s why it made bank.
They’re just arriving at work now.
Let them get some coffee and wake up before they dive into this dumpster fire.
True but diversity was the selling point of how it got off the ground. In rare cases we have documented proof of this…the most egregious example ( and something that was never going to be good) was high guardian spice. While it was a small to mid sized studio they admitted to investors why it was made.
Edit : I want to be clear they rely on the IP to still do the heavy lifting.
Sure I have. But again, what company has made a show they knew was going to lose them millions simply for diversity’s sake?
It just doesn’t happen.
But again, what company has made a show they knew was going to lose them millions simply for diversity’s sake?
Probably not knew as they expected the vocal minority to support them, but this has been tried and done over many years now. I would’ve thought they learned after the first few times they lost money on these projects…
They saw it as a selling point at the time… your response includes hindsight.
What did the Sha of pride ever do to you?
I’m going to exist even harder to make you angry.
If you have an issue take it up with the man upstairs.
That’s fine with me.
Rather be the way I am than any other way.
Be the way you want to be, and don’t let others tell you any different
If they do I’m just gonna exist harder.
LOOK I’M EXISTING!
but this has been tried and done over many years now. I would’ve thought they learned after the first few times they lost money on these projects…
But what exactly do you expect them to learn? The obvious answer is to not make a bad show/movie/game with a bad script, actors, cinematography, etc.
But past that, there really are no learning points. Diversity and inclusion in itself do not cause products to fail…bad products make products fail.
