So currently there are two purchase options.
- $40 and you get the character boost
- $70 for character boost + cosmetic items
Why isn’t there a 3rd option at $30 to just buy the cosmetic items? I might consider buying it for the cosmetic items but I have no interest in the boost and $70 for just the 1 mount & toy (wouldn’t ever use the retail version) seems more than I am willing to pay.

Same reason why you can’t buy retail CEs without buying the bundle. That’s how it’s sold.

Just saying they could probably get more sales if they offered this. You should be able to purchase the items al carte and not just as a package deal.
I think they’ll get plenty of sales regardless.

I just don’t get how it’s a negative for them to not offer it in this manner? For myself I won’t buy it if I have to pay $70 and only will use half the items in the bundle.
So they could be getting money from me if they gave a package option for just the cosmetic items vs the $0 if they force me to buy it all or not at all. It’s not like it would cost them anything to offer it in this manner.
Because everyone else doesn’t care. People will pay blizzard no matter what. Go watch an asmongold transmount competition for proof. It’s all about those pixels. People are hopelessly addicted and would sacrifice their first born to blizzard if they asked.
I’m also hoping they either come out with a ‘Standard’ CE edition that doesn’t include the boost or that they make the mount puchasable. It’s really all I want from that bundle, although i wouldn’t mind the toys. It’s just sad that we can’t seperate the in-game services from the cosmetics.
I’m so hyped for tbc, would have loved to show some fancy swag!

Same reason the toy only comes with a happy meal
To use your same analogy. You can buy the combo meal or you can buy each of the parts of the combo individually. Imagine if you just wanted to buy fries but fries were only a part of the combo meal.
But a customer cant buy the toy, only in the happy meal. The toy isnt a side like fries/drink it is a toy.
Yes but you aren’t paying extra for the toy. The individual pieces of the happy meal if bought individually would be more expensive than the happy meal.
In the case of the boost vs cosmetics this is not the case and you ARE spending extra money for the cosmetics
Free month -15$
Boost - 40$
Mount and toys -15$
What if you buy the character boost for $40, can you buy the CE afterwards for $30? Or do they require the full $70 on top of it which literally has no use for the 2nd boost?

Trust me, I get what you’re saying “I want selection of specific options.” If you experience anything in the current market you know what I’m saying that purchasing doesnt usually allow for everything to be split out, they do combination groupings specifically to get more of a purchase out of you. There are tons of purchases where customers dont need all the items in the combination, but still have to purchase to get the item they want.
That’s also a fair point and should be an upgrade option as well.
Right. Look at all the insurance and tv bundles out there these days. Everything is bundled.
They just aren’t going to make an option for every situation. If you want the mount you have to cough up the rest too. It’s about making money pure and simple.
Well that is unfortunate then as I would have liked the mount but won’t be willing to spend $70 for it.
Yeah, I would get it if it was $30 or $40, but not $70 when I have no use or desire for a boost.

I wish they would have just charged for BC and not have all this other crap. I happily would have paid for BC. I’m not paying for a boost. They want money but instead of just selling us the game like the good old days… they want to sell other unwanted crap. Why they’d put in a boost while still refusing to do tokens is quite confusing, as well.
