Why is there no MMR for random BGs?

Having a MMR system accurately grade people and throw them back to where they belong is probably the only method. Currently the sadistic types who would MMR tank to just tool on people can just queue for a regular BG at any time.

It’s for enjoyment. I understand that. But a counter to what you’ve said could be the exact opposite reaction. A player goes up against someone clearly superior to the point where they had zero chance. This happens continually. They don’t feel like they’re progressing and quit PvP entirely. Doing nothing to teach players how to play the game isn’t doing the subscribers a service.

Id also think the concentration of Horde players v Alliance players queueing in general would affect it pretty heavily.

The problem is being constantly deleted prevents you from getting better gear since you aren’t earning conquest. Since your gear is crap no one will add you to a group, so you can’t get gear, so you get deleted, so you don’t earn conquest. After a little bit of trying you decide F this and just leave and the high ilvl person just moves on to the next victim while few actually get better.

Where did this slang come from? I believe this term was created by elitist players that wanted to degrade other players for not having a big number on their profile.

Casual, most Bgers play all day all night everyday far more often then Arena and RBG players do. I hardly call that casual!

We all started at the bottom. Getting my @ss kicked by better players is what eventually helped me get better. If new/below average players only go against other new/below average players how will they ever progress?

I had to adapt by going against better players when i started and i’m all the more thankful for it. Without getting stomped i wouldn’t have been pushed to practice/research to improve. Casual bg’s are already plenty new player friendly. I mean it’s pretty rare that you just come across someone amazing anyways.

Exactly. It seems like people lack the skill to win outside of gear differences.
Why would you want a rating attached to that to reinforce that?
Why would 1 person out of 10/15 want to put up with that?

Having a MMR will keep the already established from beating up the unestablished. It will also help newcomers fight challenges according to their own personal MMR.

There is no adapting to being globaled by someone 50-60 ilvl higher than you, you just die without being able to do anything at all

I’d be fine with them having a separate item lvl bracket. Maybe a sub 200 bracket would do the trick

Yea but that is part of life and RPG games. You have to go on a journey and attain power/train/gear before fighting a superior opponent. That is common sense. Fights aren’t supposed to be fair, you are supposed to find a way to win, sometimes that is thru tactics or gearing or just bringing some friends.

“If you find yourself in a fair fight, then your tactics suck”

Guess you never been in no win situations IRL competitions, you take the beating but it can’t discourage you from getting better. That is how winning is done. We learn more when and how we lose. If someone completely outgears you and globals you then you should realize what you have to do. You have work that needs to be done. If you cry and say it isn’t fair then competition isn’t for you.

Players need to learn how to become powerful. A great build is as important as the skill to play that build. A build/gear is part of counterplay and you have to know your strengths and weaknesses as a player. Not every build is right for every player so you have to develop something that you can win with. This is something new age gamers must learn especially in an RPG. The problem is in these threads is these players aren’t allowing themselves to be teachable.

Casual players aren’t aware of this concept. I went from Emberstorm(Hydraxis) to BG9(Tichondrius) in season 12 or 13 to improve. 2300 on emberstorm was glad, 2300 on bg9 wasn’t even duelist. If I had stayed on my previous realm maybe I would have got a free glad title, but I wouldn’t have improved at all. Queueing into people better than you is the best way to improve your individual skill in any video game.

Fun is subjective.
