Why is the Jailer acting like Thanos?
WoW taking ideas from popular movies etc… seems like par for the course

Any why is he semi naked?
I need to rewatch those two/three technically cinematics. Somehow I’ve been thinking Anduin chose on purpose (not shown) to get the inside scoop, as it twere. But I’m probably reading something into it I shouldn’t - or isn’t there.
Need to rewatch.
The lazy writing mainly steams from blizzard half-assing retcons into the story to make it seem that Zovaal was this grand infinite-D chess player who was behind nearly everything in the Warcraft Universe. Mainly the Lich King and all that. Even though we already had a solid background for the Lich King from WC3. The same game that introduced the Lich King. They did all of this in Shadowlands itself. Unlike say N’zoth who’s involvement with storylines like Deathwing, Azshara and the Emerald Nightmare expanded loose story threads or characters that were either one note or a footnote in the story. They also gave time for those changes to “breathe” (aka allow the audience time to accept the changes). With the WoTA trilogy being the first major piece of media. Following by Stormrage, Cataclysm, Charge of the Aspects, Legion and finally BFA along with Warbringers Azshara.
Basically Zovaal had no real proper build up. No subtle hints or descriptions that foreshadowed him. And yet we are meant to believe he was in the story since before WC3 and Sylvanas had been working for him since Edge of Night.
Anduin clearly tells Sylvanas that it is up to her. Whatever she decides he will do. So if Sylvanas says to take the sword, Anduin will do it. This way it is 100% on Sylvanas for whatever he does while under Zovaals control. It was a test and she failed.

I mean to be fair people love having a leader to follow just look at history. Maybe he wants us to destroy Bastion cause it looks too ‘goody two shoes’ for its own good and I’d be fine with that. The place needs a redesign anyway cause if any place was hell for all eternity it’d be that and not the Maw.
I think the comment to Anduin about going along with him to see reality’s end was a bit of a negative. Unless they are just going to watching Avenger’s Infinity War on Wowflix.
If tormenting and erasing countless souls though the cosmos is not enough to convince someone that the Jailer is bad then literally nothing will.

Why is the Jailer dad?
Could that be so bad? Look at how screwed both factions are. They never seem to do anything right. All they’ve done is to make Azeroth a worst place for everyone.
The factions leaders dominate us. We do whatever they want. We’re all their lackeys. They just call us champions as we do whatever they want. They don’t care about us. They pay us some gold and send us on our way. They all have homes and we just wonder about as homeless souls.
At least with the Jailer we’d only have one being to dominate us instead of a punch of dysfunctional leaders that are always in search of themselves. With him maybe the cosmos will finally be in balance. No more fighting. No more war. No more faction conflict and despair. Maybe he’ll give us player housing.
WoW is full of despair. Nothing ever gets resolved. Nothing ever gets better. We fill the world with famine, disease, and war. What’s the difference with being dominated by him or the faction leaders.
At least with the Jailer he’s sure of himself. He gets things done. He’s been carrying out a plan from the very begins of WoW. All the while it seems like the faction leaders can’t even tie their own shoes. He the greatest leader that’s ever existed in WoW.
I would choice to follow the Jailer. But in WoW we never really have the freedom to choice. We do what we’re told when we’re told.
You know…if the Jailer said, “You can finally own that farm out in Westfall and you can even decorate it, too.” That might be too tempting to pass up. Hey, Blizz when are we gonna get player housing?!?

For the same cliché bad guy stuff “I will rule the world and all will bow before me” shtick that uncreative writers use.
Not really.
Why break the balance? Money? Power? Neglect?
We get zero explanation. Just generic “Oooh I want everything to be my favorite color” rubbish.
