While I havent played Classic-Era since it first came out and went back to retail. I am looking to try and play through 1-60 again.
Asked in general on both horde and alliance side if the server on Whitemane has a discord or maybe the cluster. Just got nothing but flamed for asking the question or troll responses.
It’s the anonymity of the internet, it brings out the worst in people.
As servers become more populated, the individual becomes less ‘valuable’ and for some folks that means they no longer have to treat each other with common courtesy. The realm cluster you mentioned is the largest PvP cluster in North America’s Classic Era. It receives free transfers from all other CE realms in the region. It is stationed in the PvP West.
There is a PvE East cluster (mankrik + 4 other realms) that also receives free transfers and its the counterpart to the Whitemane cluster. There are also 3 additional, much smaller clusters in the NA: PvE West, PvP East 1, & PvP East 2, along with 3 RP realms that are exempted from realm connections. All in all, that is a total of 8 different versions of the Classic Era world for you to choose from. My experience has observed that the smaller communities tend to be more friendly.
I play Horde on the PvP East 1 cluster (5 realms connected: Benediction/Faerlina/Heartseeker/Incendius/Netherwind). Our guild is the majority of our faction so we don’t really have a server discord. That said, I have found this channel (https://discord.gg/bNr9RAu5Wc) to be a helpful tool in viewing the entirety (NA & EU) of the Classic Era Community.

Here is the Whitemane discord. There are a lot of big guild and other discords for pugs and such you will get once you start grouping.
Whitemane is very populated, tons of guilds, I decided to try horde for first time and level a shaman, since I main rsham on Pagle alliance side. Very fun, the ony attune was a pain on horde though 
Notice, OP, that the priest couldn’t point to any ‘bad advice’ and instead deflects to attacking smaller communities. That’s par for the course sadly for the player mentality that flocks to megarealms.
Trade chat is like that… I actually dont use the Server Discord; most players dont.
The experience you will have with the players out in the world should be fairly positive (has been on the characters I leveled).
lesson here is dont judge a seever by general / trade chat.

Yet it’s also a boon in a lot of cases.
IT is actually pretty fun and challenging. There is no one to carry you OR hear you scream BUT the rewards are countless. ALL the Black lotus you can eat, not Hagaa, Stygian, the best, and You can see all the Rare spawn , in their natural habitat, frolicking in a carefree way, never suspecting that THEY are being hunted, by YOU!
this is true as well. PvE will always be at least 1 standard deviation of friendliness above PvP
True, I started leveling this druid because Blizzard is probably going to shut down Wrath Earthfury. I like my forum avatar and I still want a connection to that server. Yes, I am weird, but that is all true.
Anyway leveling has mostly been fine, it is kind of fun to get whatever you want, and having to solo stuff and get everything you need alone adds a bit of a challenge. Although I do have my Whitemane 60s too if I want to play those. If a person is big into finding groups for whatever it’s not the best though.
No need to login to see where the community is at. Spend a bit of time on these very forums. To be fair though the Normal server I play on is very friendly, it’s more of a PvP server thing.
