Why Is The Average Casual So Complacent Or Even Happy About The 30 Instance Cap

“Why won’t Blizzard let me grow my poop sock collection!?”

Classic player base is not of this world.

That probably has more to do with not wasting your gold on stuff like you probably did in vanilla, and farming more. Yes, that includes transmutes and raiding.

How often did you wipe in vanilla raids? How often do you wipe in Classic? How often do you repair your gear? It’s not just inflation. People are better at the game in almost every aspect, even gold management.

Inflation is a concern, yes, but people are actually wealthier in Classic than they were in vanilla. People have MORE. Not just more gold, but actually have more stuff.

That’s a valid point.

I will never ever hit that cap. That simple. Not that I don’t think it’s unreasonable and stupid. I just won’t. So I’m not vocal about it. Other folks idk, happy to lick the boot I suppose

Nah, I was stingy as heck in vanilla. Didn’t even buy enchants and never had more than 200 gold at a time. I flat out remember grinding gorilla pubes for 2 levels at 40 to try and afford my regular mount. Part of it is 100% knowledge, but things like the Mara 1 pull? ZG flying pulls? Didn’t exist.

A lot of it is that people have more gold to pay more for the things I did farm. I got in on the silithus rogue farm before people really knew about it on my server, got about 100 arcane crystals over 2-3 weeks.

Fact of the matter is that if a lot of the grinds that we are doing now were as well known? They would have been nerfed immediately. However because we are stuck in this no changes territory, easily exploited gold farms are kept in the game for the entire life of the game.

Calling it a “playstyle” is laughable and really does not help your absurd case.

I both care about druids, and as a feral druid I am cool with the 30/24 cap.

And more real world money when the gold is sold to an overseas gold farming company.

My most geared char is a druid. And I still dont care about them. I just yolo around ganking mages in world pvp cause there’s so many of them they deserve it.

No, you see, his “playstyle” is >30 no risk instance runs a day. Anything less than 31 per day completely prevents his “playstyle”.

Basically what Blizzard did was eliminate a real world unhealthy play style. PvP might be next.

Did they?

Is that the intent of the change?

It didn’t seem obvious to me at least, just what the change is intended to do, nor whether it has any positive impact.

Sounds like you haven’t kept up with the hotfixes.

Cap is per character now; they haven’t eliminated it. If anything they’ve just made it more unhealthy since you need to level another character now.

It might have been an unintended product of the change.

I suppose I’m still left wondering, why do we have this 30 instance limit?

How many people are going to do that?

I think it’s a good thing, less inflation, more open-world questing, more legitimate play are all things that i generally advocate for.

Maybe it was never Blizzard’s intention to have high level characters run low level dungeons all day.

Was it their intention to limit that?

Who are you kidding. The ones insisting they must run >30 a day would just have the alt boosted.
