Why is the Alliance getting an interesting internal conflict *after* the faction-focused expansion?

I like the Wild God/Goldrinn tie in, that’s about the only aspect of it I find interesting. But than again, they told us the worgen are essential going to die out completly within a generation. Because you know…that’s what the alliance needs, more Humans can do no wrong and are always correct in all they do.

That was the deal Sylvanas had made with Garithos. Explicitly.

I mean, we all know the truth, but I still honestly can’t understood how Garithos actually expected Sylvanas to keep her word. When she’s proven time again, she’ll go back on her world the moment it’s convenient for her.

Garithos had no prior engagement with Sylvanas at the time.

If anything the only reasons he had to view her as untrustworthy was a) being undead, and b) being an elf.

well, it’s not like he played through Classic, Wrath, Cata, Legion and BFA to know how treacherous this undead elf woman he’d just met was going to turn out to be in the future…

That’s true

Human potential is all that they care about.

It would be cool but unfortunately there’re more people that likes Anduin over Greymane and Blizzard will always move on the money direction(not always but often as we see they continue to bring WoD at every turn they can)

I know I am in the minority, but the alliance need more people Greymane and Ivar Bloodfang. Bring some of that I do what’s necessary for my people/Pack mentality. The love affair with Anduin and how the narrative bends itself to make him ALWAYS in the right is nauseating

Graymane won’t be allowed to do anything questionable, I feel, because the narrative is too focused on making him Anduin’s new dad.

Sadly. His coolest moments are usually when he’s not around Anduin and is allowed to be the Grumpy old grandfather who isn’t afraid to kick your butt that a lot us like about him. (Like his moment in Stormheim. When he mentions to Sylvanas that she took his child and now he’ll take her future)

I remember hating that scene when it turned out Sylvanas was Doing A Bad after all and felt like it took away from the initial ambush at the Stormheim intro. Since I had already seen the clip on youtube, I think I ended up skipping it in-game. :frowning:

Everyone mostly figured out she was up to no good in Stormheim before we even got there though. At least there was a note on alliance side, that you find in Azuna, that suggests she was up something devious.

Not that it needs more of then. The Alliance have Alleria, Turalyon and a guy that literally has Trollbane as his surname. What we really need is Blizzard is let then act and have people question in-universe their action rather than just hand wave it or come with an excuse to justify it.

Heck the only grey moment for grandpa wolf was just ruin the plan of the screecher in getting Val’kyrs for Odyn which was later justify by the writers as a good action…like how are you supposed to give deep to any character if every action they do is justify and said character is later sidelined?

Blizzard writing is comparable to Gotto at the point which is really sad as Warcraft was once the place where a lot of tropes were subverted in funny and interesting ways(Noble Orcs and Beast races, technological halflings, etc)

Yeah. Now it just feels like there has been this HUGE disconnect between them and us since Activision took over. A long time ago, Blizzard used to care about player feedback and what was upsetting the playerbase. Now if it upsets the players, they moralize it to you in game, usually from Anduin or some other self-rigtheous pr|ck on why you suck and you’re wrong for feeling that way.

True, but eh. I know it’s a me problem but to me, worgen kinda inadvertently represent the dismantling of a core theme I liked about the horde being misunderstood monsters ever since the worgen were introduced in the way they were. So when a race concept is introduced that I think perfectly captures that idea, and was stuck on the alliance, it just always bummed me out on a meta level whenever they show up. So even with the absolute nothing Blizzard’s done to sell the werewolf theme, I kinda see it like “the closest I can get to an old horde theme I liked would be to reroll alliance.”

I think the impatience of waiting for tomorrow’s prepatch has me thinking about it a lot more whenever I’m on the forum because I’m waiting to give a worgen alt a spin through BFA to see if I stick with it or stay on my troll mage.

I’m in the same boat hun. Waiting for the pre-patch has got me thinking about so many things that blizzard ruined, and the many concepts that got trashed just so Human Potential can prevail. I don’t mean to sound salty in a lot of my posts lately, just that thinking back on things has gotten me down.

So like, is the alliance only allowed to be racist imperialists? Can’t have any race that isn’t some white-skinned humanoid?

I’m not sure what you mean.

Don’t think I can explain any more than that.
