Why is TBC being discussed as if it's totally happening?

I would just move onto another game if that was how it was gonna go down. Guess we will find out Friday.

btw if you are wondering if blizzard will make another expension after shadow die after 2 week in. They wont.

Can you imagine you can put down old content and people play forever.

Some people say they would like play on a fresh classic wow server. DAM ARE YOU TELLINH ME I COULD GET 5K SUB JUST BY DOING IT AGAIN THE SAME THING. WOW UR TELLING I DONT NEED TO C REATE ANYTHING NEW.

I CAN SELL PEPSI AND NEVER CHANGE IT AND PEOPLE WILL BUY.

It makes sense that TBC is happening, but Classic took almost 2 years to develop. I just don’t see it coming out as soon as people think it is.

So you have seen all of the financial numbers and know exactly what the costs and revenues are?

The global playerbase of classic is low, like not even 1/10 what original Vanilla was. Many people pay in foreign currency and don’t even pay the actual $15 USD.

It’s not hard to calculate what their actual maximum potential revenue from Classic could be and it’s tiny compared to their actual overall revenue which is completely public.

Classic servers are expensive to run this isn’t some two bit operation being hosted in some remote place in Eastern Europe like private servers were yes but I’m sure Blizzard is rolling in all that money they don’t even bother to report to their shareholders :joy:

True to a degree, retail is failing. It had great success, but it hit a point where more and more players feel like there’s nothing to do and gearing is gated behind great vault, which is once a week thing.

TBC is pretty much 99.99% confirmed.

Here a fact!

This is what you want to believe

Here another, retail keep player playing for 10 days average.

Doesn’t matter how many resources they pour onto retail wow, retail will never be as good as tbc/wrath.

Blizzcon trailer showed Illidian and the Blizzcon bundle this year had a Netherwing pet.

Different team, different budget.
They are completely different games. If you want to support retail, go invest/play in it.
These classic versions of the game make them money. Why wouldn’t they continue on with BC is a better question.

I don’t know anyone who’s playing both, in either of my guilds.

Subs jumped 200% when Classic launched. Those people weren’t subbing to play retail.

Yes. IMO retail is irredeemable.

A handful of amateurs operating on a shoe-string budget maintain their private servers better than Blizzard.

Classic is less than a little investment.

TBC Classic is like the RE4 remake (before Capcom started talking about it): we just know. It would be financially stupid of Blizz not to do TBC (and Wrath) servers.

97.8%. Your math is off!

Idk what private servers you played on but they had all the same problems classic servers do only much worse.

You could literally pay private server admins to be unbanned and go right back to botting/hacking/whatever else you were doing. They had no problems letting their servers go to :poop:

Classic’s playerbase is a lot more than 500,000 players, unless you’re not counting China.

Right, I mean it’s not like activision has a problem with bots and hacking right? right??! RIGHT!??!?@

They had all those “crucial resources” to develop retail exclusively for years and all they did was push out garbage xpac after garbage xpac; I’d have diverted efforts to something proven as well, it makes sense as a business decision.

For the sake of argument, China shouldn’t be included because those servers are run independently of Blizzard and are very different from actual classic WoW.

There’s a reason so many Chinese players/guilds choose to play on other region’s servers.
