Might just be me, but I worry more about the real life economy, than some stupid videogames virtual fantasy pixel economy lol. Especially get a laugh out of all the it’s all about the money posts people make about multiboxing. If that was true, then I bet they sure do regret banning all those botters(you know the ones that were actually cheating) in all those banwaves
Most multibox users have their accounts spread on different servers. And even same server would run into the issue of not being in the same phase.
Even without that, you can have multitag for quest purposes, without also having multitag for loot purposes.
No, there wouldn’t be. In an environment where the nodes are phased, not all of your chatacters would see the same node. The lazy implementation would probably see overlap with large groups, but would be less than the current +1 pick for each character up to 10.
I encourage everyone to look in to multiboxing. You don’t need a crazy powerful system and depending on your play habits, it is very possible that it will actually make you enough extra gold each month that you’ll end up making a profit in really short amount of time.
Basically, depending on the token and market prices, if you do any amount of farming for yourself you’re probably just turning down free money by not multiboxxing.
Same here. I just wish someone other than the same 5 people would create one instead of jumping alts, that way we could get some new input instead of the same old nonsense.
That’s strange, when I started multiboxing and joined the MB discord people thought it was weird I had my characters on different realms lol.
That’s not really a problem though, I’d just pay to transfer characters, no big. Or level new characters.
Now you’re going to have to fight regular players again. What if you and I, each on one character both hit a mob that’s not for a quest just for cloth or something. Is it just the first person that will get loot? If that’s your idea you better put on a helmet because regular players will be lobbing stones at you
Maybe I’m misunderstanding, I’ll tell you what I’m envisioning and you tell me where I’m wrong.
I’m on 40 characters, I look at 40 minimaps and let’s assume I see 0 nodes. I move 60 yards which I believe is the minimap range, I look at 40 minimaps and see who sees nodes then go and gather nodes on those characters.
Since they are personal nodes that means they are all mine, no worries of anyone getting it before me or anything like that.
even if that were true…a business in it to make money…whoddathunkit?
Pre BFA, multiboxing was a hobby that didn’t give you a significant advantage.
wut?
How was boxing NOT a farming advantage in Legion and before?
If that was true, then I bet they sure do regret banning all those botters(you know the ones that were actually cheating) in all those banwaves
Here, I’ll hold your hand on why banning bots on waves is actually financially advantageous to blizzard.
The average bot becomes break even in less than a week. The average time it takes for a bot to get ban waved is measured in months. But let’s say blizzard is really on their game, and get them after two weeks.
Blizzard:
Gets another boost sale, another expansion sale, and a month of game time from the botter setting up shop again.
Bot:
Gets a week of gold profit.
Blizzard doesn’t actually lose anything unless they become particularly good at banning bots, to the point that they no longer break even.
Multiboxxers remaining allowed is financially advantageous for blizzard, because they almost universally pay for their time with tokens bought with gold.
Multiboxxers wrecking the economy increases demand for tokens to be bought. Their presence drives GpH for non multiboxxers so low that it doesn’t make sense to even try, to instead work a few more hours at work, and buy the gold.
Multiboxxers wrecking the economy increases demand for tokens to be bought.
We keep hearing this but I have NO problem selling pretty much everything I farm and the last couple months there are boxers all over my server.
Im doing just as good now than before I used to see them every day.
somehow I dont think theyre wrecking the economy.
What I think theyre doing is keeping gougers under control on the AH.
Simple, each one is a paid sub. More paid subs = more profit.
Here, I’ll hold your hand
No thanks creepy random internet person. But go ahead, and keep worrying about your virtual fantasy world pixel economy, while I worry about more important things in life. And I guarantee you botters did, and do more harm to this so called videogame economy than the average boxer could do.
Now you’re going to have to fight regular players again.
I already have to fight multiboxxers for taps. Multitap for loot has a limit, which multiboxxers will happily exceed with their moonkin swarms. What exactly changes here?
Maybe I’m misunderstanding, I’ll tell you what I’m envisioning and you tell me where I’m wrong.
I think you’re actually misunderstanding or misrepresenting how multiboxxers gain advantage with gathering currently.
9 druids follow the primary druid, the one the player is actually watching. They see a node, run up to it, and broadcast a click to all 10 wow clients. All ten druids harvest the node, and they run off to the next node.
If the node was phased, the primary druid would see a node, run up, and only he(or maybe a few of his drones, depending on phasing implementation) would pick the herb. There may or may not be advantage at that point, but it would be objectively less ridiculous than the current full multiplier that multiboxing grants.

Id like to say that I know its so terribly complicated to go farm somewhere else away from the boxer. I mean, I know I do it all the time.
What exactly changes here?
How often do you run into multiboxers? How often do you think players in general run into multiboxers? How often do you see normal solo players? You want to remove multitag which will affect regular players on top of multiboxers. I can’t see average joe’s letting that fly to counter an infrequent situation.
I think you’re actually misunderstanding or misrepresenting how multiboxxers gain advantage with gathering currently.
Everything you said was correct, I’m not sure where we are disagreeing here. If I go into a zone now to farm I am limited to 10 gathers per node and I have to compete with everyone else there. With your change I would be restricted to 1 gather per node but I wouldn’t have to compete with anyone. So right now there’s no reason for a multibox gatherer to play more than 10 characters at once but with your change there’s a benefit to 40 boxxing because all the nodes are his and more characters = more nodes, that effect of getting access to more nodes with more characters doesn’t exist today.
So I have to ask why does blizzard allow this practice?
Because they view it as an interesting alternative way to play the game.
but considering they have to use a paid 3rd party application to run multibox
You don’t need buy software, and even if you did, that’s irrelevant. It’s like complaining about someone who has a 20 button mouse over someone using a two button mouse.
and that application syncs certain actions for them it is a giant loop hole.
Each client window performs a single action in response to a single button press initiated by a human being.
And without these programs the practice would be almost impossible.
The software simulates hardware solutions. It wouldn’t be “almost impossible”, it would just be more expensive.
#bankeycloners
I was wondering when you’d show up Kitten
I am sure someone has asked before
HAHAHAHA…
Translation:
“I’m a troll who’s going to pretend I don’t know how to use the search function so I can pretend to be innocent while starting yet another flamebait thread on this topic.”
It is very limited what a 20 boxer can do, given that most content is built around parties, not raids. Blame devs for making rare mounts drop off world mobs.
While playing classic I met a guy who quit retail because of blood elves and draenei, and said he would never return unless they were removed.
Your personal definition of what feels “immersive” to you is irrelevant.
It is a hobby a person has chosen to do. No different than the guy who sits around doing amateur radio or people who stare at stars all night or watch birds.
Yeah and? Like I said. If they want to do that then more power to them (which you left out of my quote). Doesn’t mean myself and many others can say we aren’t a fan of it and should be against the TOS.
