Why is MMR hard capped right now?

Right but they have said they wont do it because lets say you get the top rank. And then something happens IRL and you can’t log in. They think its bad to force the player come back, instead other people should have the ability to push the cutoff higher with healthy inflation. Inflation is a better solution.

Well, then they decay, just like how they might miss glad/r1 now.

well make sure to make that argument to blizzard. not me.

I’m sure they’ll file it right next to “pls inflate shuffle so i can hit goals and quit”.

I think they should just round up everyone’s rating like if you’re at 2098 just round to 2100 but if you lose real bad round down would make climbing so much better so people can actually earn the rewards. Like my goal is 2100 every season for enchant. I have no desire to push glad ever. It’s far too sweaty for an ugly mount when there are so many better ones in the game.

They’re constantly pushing the averagely rating up to keep people on the uptrend.

Glad drakes have feelings. :dracthyr_a1: No need to be rude.

I thought Blizzard said they did nothing for 10 weeks in S1.

They injected 0 artificial inflation (i.e. the average didn’t move up at all).

I’m just hella salty still about last season. I was 2098 on 3 healers and just couldn’t get the last win cause I fought 2400 players for my 2100 match. I was sooo tilted. Like why couldn’t they just give it to me. I more than earned it winning against other 2100 and 2400 players.

Same, lmao. :dracthyr_love_animated:

Unfortunate. Just the nature of cutoffs.

Shuffle violently pushed everybody up at basically every point of the season.

Pretty sure players on the lower end of the RSS ladder were getting lower ratings than if they were on the old 3s ladder. Their ratings weren’t getting pushed up. They were getting pushed down.

People without monitors going 1-5 every lobby dropping mmr is by design.

Crimson Shuffle force fed such an extreme amount of free points that we’ll probably never see those values again.

they never should’ve touched it tbh

we could’ve seen the first 4k rated player

missed opportunity

That’s true. This is the first season ever where I’ve really tried and failed to get 2100. I got it for the first time in bfa on my rdruid and hpal then again on hpal and rdruid in slands season 1. Then I quit up until dragonflight and to be so close literally 2 rating away on 3 healers and not get 2100 is absolutely enraging.

Reward structure kind of funky when goodies effectively stop at 2400 but top of the ladder is 3700

What they should do is just remove any artificial MMR manipulation, both deflation and inflation.

Most people played the most at the start of a season, it is the most hype phase of a season.

How many people actually sit rating? Probably only a few at the top (They mostly stream anyway so they’ll still play the game no matter what).

What percentage of the ladder is between 2400 and 3700?

It always bothers me when people are not fine with someone playing 500 games and get 3k at the start of the season, but they’re totally fine with the same people playing 500 games and get 3k at the end of the season.

It will be lifted at the end of June.

Reasoning: Balance concerns i.e) Embellishments, Tier, and Class – along with gear disparity brought along by vault RNG. (actual reasoning)

source: trust me bro  (but actually)

you currently dont gain extra mmr for going on win streaks, its very punishing if you lose, bad design. Win less points than u lose even with a positive W/L ratio
