I brought this up in another thread because this is something that bothers my soul.
I mean look at this s—, this is the most wildly OP thing in Warcraft i’ve ever seen:
Im into comic book battles which live and die by confirmed character feats and facts that can be derived from them because it shows a characters upper limits when they’re not being constrained for the sake of a plot AKA plot-induced stupidity. Looking at what Jaina did in the BoL is ridiculous with that in mind.
- Teleported in a battleship likely 750+ tons
- Levitated a 750+ battleship with no visible strain
- Nearly insta-cast a frost nova the size of the entire battlefield while still levitating a 750+ ton battleship and still showing no visible strain.
- Fired off an arcane barrage of over a dozen cannons while still levitating a 750+ ton battleship and continuing to show no visible strain even after performing all of the previous feats.
Jaina is hands down the strongest mortal on Azeroth right now. Removing plot-induced stupidity as a factor Jaina could destroy pretty much anyone with ease which is why im hella salty Sylvanas left the Horde being our only remaining leader with any sizeable amount of power. We legit have no one on the Horde now which even comes remotely close to Jaina’s power level. If she wanted she could likely solo every faction leader of the Horde simultaneously with low difficulty which is absolutely ridiculous.
To add insult to injury, this doesn’t even consider Malfurion who is likely one tier down below Jaina and easily a demigod level character himself. This also doesn’t consider Velen who is also a light-centric demigod level character as well. This also doesn’t consider Alleria who is a demigod level character after she absorbed a whole a-- Naaru falling to the Void.
The power balance of faction leaders between the Horde and Alliance is wildly lopsided, how is this even justifiable

If you want to get technical, we both don’t know how heavy Warcraft battleships are, and Kul Tiran ships are already heavily enchanted with air and water magic.
Anyway, the power gap ultimately doesn’t matter outside of arguing about whether X could beat Y because characters that powerful are either forced to hold the idiot ball for years at a time or never get involved unless the plot says they need to. See: Malfurion, Tyrande, and Velen, with newcomers in the form of Turalyon, Alleria, and everyone crewing the Vindicaar.

Malfurion is easily more powerful than Jaina. The writers just do a horrible job at showing it in-game.

Sylvanas’ power gain reasons are hinted at. They don’t need to spell it out for the players every single time.
And how is Sylvanas’ power gain 10 times more egregious? Because she can fly as a banshee? Because she beat an old orc in battle or because she beat a weaker Lich King is battle?
The Alliance has walking demigods with Malfurion, Jaina, Tyrande, Velen, etc but for some reason people get so mad over Sylvanas.

I think it goes: Medihv, Azshara, Khadgar, Jaina. From most to least powerful. Of course, 2 of those are dead now.

Sylvanas is no longer with the Horde and without plot-induced stupidity Jaina could likely wipe her off the face of Azeroth at low-medium difficulty.
They dont. I’ll keep this short and in order of the character creation screen:
- Thrall – No longer a shaman, hes now just a regular axe-swinging Warrior.
- Lilian Voss – Just a rogue. Extremely competent as an Assassin but there are plenty of equally skilled Rogues in the game and lore.
- Baine – Just a warrior that swings a totem. Nothing beyond physical attacks ever demonstrated and no remarkable feats.
- Rokhan I guess? – Competent Shadow Hunter but no remarkable feats worth mentioning. Low power-ceiling regardless because Shadow Hunter.
- Lor’themar – He shoots arrows. No, not magic arrows, but arrows. Regular arrows. And sometimes has a sword. Hes about as unremarkable as they come.
- ji Firepaw –
- Thalyssra – Has yet to do anything beyond make shields and run from Jaina terrified. 10000 years of magic study and incredibly unremarkable.
- Maila Highmountain –
- Talanji – Decently powerful. Best feat occurred during the chase cinematic when she channeled Rezan but Rezan is gone for the time being and Bwonsamdi isn’t nearly as powerful. Iffy on her status, need to see more.
- Vulpera – Absolutely no one worth mentioning

Sylvanas bailed on the stupid Horde, and rightfully so!
Bottom line, the story after Legion is terrible across all factions. I think someone’s kid concocted the ridiculous events and character development we seen.
Glad someone is paying attention and not only complaining about Sylvanas. Jaina is power AND has no conflicts as a character.

Soloing saurfang and the lich king is ridiculous and no where near anything anyone else has. O yeah and nothing bad ever happens to her either. She hasn’t even ever been egregiously wounded since being raised (unlike Jaina and Malfurion). And when she dies, it’s never permanent. That lady literally has nothing to worry about.

A mage who’s so powerful, yet is soundly defeated by a few Horde players as a raid boss.

Jainas weakness is her mom is a douche against the all powerful raid boss wizard and beat and banished her as a child like the baby elephant and the tent stake. As A child she couldn’t pull it away, but as a adult she clearly could but doesn’t think she can and gets her 68k hp mother who elected a very clearly evil fat lady to corrupt her own empire. Saurfang died since he was at dungeon boss tier and struggled to take off two weak 60k hp assassin’s the pc can take 30 of without a sweat.

I’m pretty disappointed that Thalyssra doesn’t even seem to be on Jaina’s level. You’re telling me the “First Arcanist,” a Nightborne who is well over ten thousand years old, doesn’t know how to magically lift up a boat? Everything Jaina does should be child’s play for Thalyssra.
At the same time, I’m holding out hope that Kael’thas joins the Horde in Shadowlands and becomes the magical powerhouse that Thalyssra isn’t.

there is some sort limitation to her powers and maybe im grasping at straws but during the soo raid when shes creating the portals from the ship to org she states that she cant maintain that portal open for long. i dunno for what reason or why cause she didnt seem winded or maybe it was just plot device but thats something that instantly came to mind when you started gassing jaina up. lol. so she can do all of this but cant even maintain a portal? cmon man!
