Why is it okay to replace Malygos and not Ysera?

We all know this. But it still doesn’t make it a good choice and good writing. That’s the entire point here.

But again, you do you.

Honestly, just because you don’t like it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s bad writing either.

tho

Because old blizzard knew the value of killing off a character and letting another step forward in a good way.

Current blizzard is to scared to kill anyone off permanently because they dont wanna loose customers after their favorite character dies so they can pull them outta the back of the closet again.
100% will bet money we will see sylvanas again for example.

Apparently not since they just made Arthas a blue ball that just dissipated into nothing. Same with Garrosh getting disenchanted. Like those dudes aren’t just dead any longer, they don’t even exist as far as we know now. Ursoc also got the same treatment. He’s not just dead any longer, he’s straightup gone.

Garrosh only died because of one dude who really wanted to do that, that entire cinimatic where he suicide bombs was done by one dude.

Arthas is “Dead” sure, ill believe it when wow ends with him dead, but blizzard has a history now of just bringing people back because lol why not.

Yes it does. Because it negates the entire emotional response to her death in Legion and the importance of her bound to the Shadowlands. It also once again makes death irrelevant, because we can just swap people for others.

That’s not good writing when consequences are trivialized.

Indeed.

Arthas and Garrosh kinda proved that wrong. Really it’s just they didn’t want to spend time to build up Merithra and just fell back on the easy way out.

So they’re dead until they aren’t. Got it.

now THIS, i will 100% buy into.

Yeah pretty much, illidan was dead until he was not. Yesara was dead until she was not, Sylvanas is going to be “dead” until she is not.

Bruh, making a bad joke at someone else’s expense doesn’t mean that I hate or am afraid of them.

The current one, of course.

Yes, you should. Your comment was more inappropriate. Theirs was just a joke. Let’s not turn this thread into some personally offended agenda, thanks.

:point_up_2:

Maurdeth is known for these types of dark humor jokes. But never once have they made any sort of phobic comments.

Ok I was writing something out but decided to just not stay in a negative tizzy. You do you.

Please don’t feel like you can’t say something. We may have differing views, we may argue about them, but your views are still important. As are everyone else’s.

Yea I’m assuming they didn’t want to spend time on the voice actor, character writing, and character design of a new dragon for the green dragonflight.

I still to this day didn’t think anything about ardenweald made any sense so seeing her come back to life isn’t a huge stretch of the imagination.

Merithra has existed since Legion, though.

Ysera’s “dead” or whatever that means now she’s in the shadowlands.

Bringing her back . . . again . . . kinda kills off the importance of her death in Legion and resurrection in Ardenweald (which isn’t a true resurrection as I understand)

But on the flip side, I suppose if she’s brought back to life in DF, that helps my head cannon that Shadowlands was a dream induced by N’Zoth lol

Unfortunately, it sounds like we’re getting Danoozed in DF.

People can say whatever they like about Afrasabi but his writing wasn’t as laughable as Da-Noozers.

We can only hope

Flaws and death are for the lesser sex.

Because Malygos is male and all males in wow are expendable by writers view and writers worship females like goddesses. It’s been seeing all of as of late. Many many male npcs have died in the last few expansions, mostly legion. But females? Less then a handful and they were villains no one cared about or were fresh new characters.

This is the biggest difference for me as far as WoW vs FFXIV writing goes - FFXIV writers ARE NOT biased in anyway shape or form towards women protecting them so.

Lets be honest with ourselves here.
Because of Shadowlands no ones death means anything anymore. Death is meaningless in wow at this point, we know how the sausage is made, we have seen the man behind the curtain, we have pierced the vail of death and we know now how lame and boring it is.
