Why is it called Community Council?

If the “community” never got to pick the people that represent it?

should just call it Blizzard Council then no?

Some of the stuff on those forums is just hard to relate to and I disagree entirely that it represents the community. You basically just created an echo chamber and are now ignoring GD because you now have that excuse.

It’s actually awful for the game.

It’s a council of people from the community selected by Blizzard, hence the name.

If people could pick them, all the streamers would pay their simps to vote for them and we’d have no council of value.

I mean, if you tried to apply it asks you to link to your existing YouTube content so it already expects you to be a streamer…

Is that what the “community” in CC means?

It’s a council that consists of members of the community.

Can you explain how it’s awful for the game? Can you explain how they were engaging with GD prior to the Community Council?

Bet you can’t. Bet you won’t.

Plenty of people have gotten in who are not streamers.

The big guys can already get their interviews and what not. The link section is also for, for example, mega-threads you host or other stuff you’ve done for/on/with wow in general

I would like it if the community council had a dislike button. So, if you agreed with the post you could express it.

I already did in the main post, you can read it there.

Bet you can’t. Bet you won’t.

Yet another reason why it’s an echo chamber and mostly filled with junk suggestions that won’t help the game. There’s no critical feedback being given there.

Yes.

LOL that’s a stretch.

If players picked the most popular people to do this, I can’t imagine we’d be in a better place lol.

You’re right but they still shouldn’t be using a title that implies they speak for the community.

It’s a poor way to represent the Community when the Community has no say in who represents them.

I mean, who wouldn’t want a small group of people we didn’t choose speaking for all of us?

Long ago when the forums were kinda fresh there were CMs that would post on here along with a GM. Most of the times it would just fun jokes but sometimes, just sometimes questions would get answered. Then everything changed when the fire nation attacked.

implying that they haven’t always done that anyways

Because it is made up of members of the community?

Well since it is made of members of the player community it is a community council .Maybe not your community because they possibly don’t talk about your specific concerns and in some cases mine . Still doesn’t mean what they bring up doesn’t resonate with others in the community though .

“Community Council” is just the nice-sounding title, the community itself never voted on such players

the community council was a failure before it launched…lol.

That would be why the OP referred to it as the “Blizzard council” and an “echo chamber”. Blizzard picked the people that they agreed the most with so they could have a healthy dose of confirmation bias while claiming that they’re listening to “the community”.
