Not happening period.
I’m seeing plenty of world quests they reward like 800 gold, one today in the spider zone was to kill a mob that tooo 15 seconds
People who complain that gold is too easy to get want to not have WQs that give 800g if it also means that everything becomes 8x as expensive.
(Protip: Shadowlands gold quests still give like 250g.)
Tokens are horrifically underpriced in terms of gold value right now. I wouldn’t ever recommend going the token route at the moment.
Buy a token like they want ya too. Its the business model now
In the first few hours of EA of TWW I made over 100,000 in gold with just brand new Battle Pets
brb… off to empty my reagent bank
I’d say this is the main exception, some of the junk sells for more than the rewards you’ll get for an entire questline
meanwhile a fish in hammerfall sells for 500g…
you jsut dont know how to make gold.
Are these gold WQs random per person? I see like 1-3 a week that gives gold. The rest are crystals stone or 100 rep
They really rooked the Dragon Flying races for sure down from about 515 gold per race in Dragon Flight too 150 or so gold in TWW…what a freaking drop…
I’m looking at my TSM crafting profession data and every single one is showing negative profit or pitiful sell rate. If your friend has managed 5 million in profit, it has been through the gathering aspect, not the crafting aspect.
Maybe it’s your server? There’s lots of Gold to made but most of it is for the highest quality crafts.
They’re trying to reduce gold inflation. WoD ruined the economy and they’ve been desperately trying to fix it since. Man that expansion was bad. WoD was to the game economy what SL was to the lore.
Not sure what you are doing wrong, I’ve made over 500k so far this expansion. Haven’t done any world quests outside gear upgrades. Just get mining and herbalism, and fish every pool you come across. I did notice a few world quests rewarding 800ish gold though.
He doesn’t use gathering professions. I don’t know what your crafting profession data is telling you, but he’s made millions of gold in pure profit. Many have, and do. He does so mostly by selling max-ranked profession tools, though he also sells max-ranked flasks and dabbles in gems.
This did not happen.
I have no idea what this is supposed to mean lol.
so play wow like a job?
a job where you PAY your employer?
good one.
I think OP is referring specifically to things other than farming. And you’re right, there’s still 800g world quests around but they’re rarer than they used to be. They also heavily nerfed the race rewards. But as I said, this is intentional: Any gold “creation” causes inflation in the WoW economy. And they’re desperately trying to avoid that. To be specific:
Things which create gold and thus generate inflation:
- Quest gold rewards
- Selling items at vendors
- Looting gold
Things which destroy gold and thus generate deflation:
- Buying things from vendors with gold
- Training skills/professions/whatever
- Flight paths
- Selling things on the AH (AH cut)
- Repairs
In this sense yes, OP is right, gold generation is much lower than in DF. But, as said, that’s intentional.
