Like if someone says “what class for gnome”
A lot of people will think of warlocks
But like why
Why’s it a thing in lore
Like I’m curious
How do they like happen? Shouldn’t a more fitting class be like a hunter with a mechanical pet for an engineer theme?

So like why are gnomes known to be locks

Gnomes really like Magic.
Fel is magic.
That’s literally all there is to it.

I guess it could be the fact that their own curiosity drives them to delve into a side of magic that they shouldn’t be messing with.
Or maybe someone thought that locks that are only a little taller than their imps would be funny, who knows?

The Gnomes lost Gnomeregan by delving too greedily and too deeply into Azeroth. Why wouldn’t they do the same into magic?

I mean, imagine being a huge, lurking Felguard pulled from the void and saying “I’m bound to…what?”
The only true magic class that I see fitting with Gnome, is Mage. I don’t know how it all started. For me, I love Gnomes and I’ve mained a lock since Vanilla. But I always feel a bit silly. (For being a Gnome lock, not being a Gnome)
Rogue here, and she has pink ponytails. I couldn’t play a Gnome or a Rogue any other way. I honestly tried.

honestly I see orc more as hunter and gnomes in the general caster are, so mage, warlock or even priest
Gnomes just have the curious nature about delving into various types of magics.
If your race is commonly punted due to your small stature, summoning an army of bodyguards seems like a good way to ward off a sudden flight for the goal posts.
Gnomes are very intelligent, but not physically imposing. Makes sense to use a Demon to do your dirty work.
