Why is fishing so lame ? Like no effort!

No dailies, No specializations, Like no effort put into it. You guys wrecked the professions trying to copy final fantasy, and then just quit and made them more a PIA rather then intersting and fun.

Seems like you guys could have done alot better.

Was one thread about fishing not enough? :eyes:

Isn’t that Saturday fishing quest like a pvp bloodbath of ppl stealing pools

I like how they abandoned spear and fishnets from DF with the current expansion fishing.

I kind of miss fishing nets along with rotating fishing hole hotspots.

I absolutely do not miss lunkers.

If you have ideas as to how Fishing could be improved, I suggest you make a list and submit it via the Suggestion option ingame, which goes directly to them. Who knows, they may even like your ideas.

Both Fishing and Cooking need more interactive stuff. The Tuskarr feast event was a step in the right direction but we could certainly do with more, smaller events and quests, and I don’t see a once-a-week fishing derby as being enough of a step up, personally.

I think they should integrate time and weather into fishing, and make it so that certain rare fish that are required for high end crafts can only be caught during certain windows. Such as a carp for raid food that can only be caught at night during a waning moon while it’s raining.

Fishing should be made into a minigame like FF14 does with it. So braindead just casting and clicking.

I would wager it has a lot to do with the fact that not many people engage with fishing. I always go into an expansion thinking I’ll dabble with fishing but give it up within the first week or two.

Kind of like Archaeology, it feels like a chore I have to force myself to do.

pretty sure this guy would disagree

no fishing in that game is so damn bad.
all ppl do is go ocean fishing and clutter their inventory bc we don’t have tackle boxes lol

i love fishing in wow and i miss chilling in one spot tbh. i guess something to do with bots is why it’s more ‘active’

Oh dang. My friend and I are only level 55 Fishers in that game but we love it.

Agree that the bait and tackle boxes need to be much, MUCH larger.

In game Cooking mama mini game

Pretty much any form of fishing outside of Zelda OoT isn’t any fun.

I don’t want to play mini-games or anything with fishing. I just want to fish and chat with my friends, don’t know why people need to reinvent things to make them highly active like hacking/lockpicking minigames, it gets annoying really fast.

How hard do you think fishing ahould be?

Fishing never had any effort thrown at it wym?

Except the fishing pole… that was cool.

Id love it to be more than click fishing keybind, mouse over the line and stare at it not blonking until it bobs then click again.

Maybe add a skilltree system to it so you can specialize in fish types or particular skills, increased fishing speed or something that makes fishing pools last longer.

Something.

Make it a puzzle game so the brain is remaining active while doing it. Not hard, nice and simple but engaging.

I vote no to any fishing mini-games. And I don’t think I’m alone in that opinion.

I wouldn’t mind seeing fishing more fleshed out. It feels somewhat half-baked even now. Two things I’d like to see are fishing hats being treated like a profession accessory and not needing to be equipped in an actual gear slot, and pools being changed to require or at least benefit from fishing skill just like open water.

At least they did finally fix perception so that the one profession stat fishing makes use of actually does something now.
