Why is everyone freaking out

over gear and weapons that get replaced before you even hit 70?

I don’t understand

Yeah everybody should just delete all their gear now. I mean we won’t use it at level 70 so just delete it.

Hyperbole.

Not everyone. Just forum dwellers. ‘Everyone’ is playing right now and having a good time as we can see from the login queues. Have fun in the pre-patch everyone

The issue is 2 nerfs are on top of each other.

You should be getting ~14 honor each kill not 1 honor each kill.

People stacked 75k honor to buy level 70 gear which costs the same amount as the 60 gear.

Now it will take people WEEKS of time for the same amount of grinding people were able to do in a single day.

Because going into Outland with greens is a very unfun experience. You will be one-shot on PvP servers. You will have to eat and drink after every single mob kill.

No one will accept you for dungeon groups. Why would they, when they can take a Naxx-geared person instead.

You will fall behind, and many people find “keeping up with the pack” during the first few weeks of an expansion to be an integral part of the experience.

anyone naxx geared has a dungeon group already formed

^ This is why, i’m so glad I have so many people AFKing my BGs now because it’s not worth playing out, nor can you because the instances BGs are in are broke and kick you out if you don’t win in a certain time frame… yet people got full sets in a few hours during the honor that was there in BETA for months, then came to live servers.

In the era of GDKP? Nah. Plenty of solo players bought gold, and then bought their way to gear.

Perhaps those people should not have waited for TBC prepatch to suddenly decide that they need to keep up with the pack.

Classic has been available since August 2019, after all.

Most people who buy naxx gear are alts to guilds that farm naxx

Because the R14 gear is going to be very helpful for a lot of classes up until 63-64. A lot of people also saw getting R14 as a fun side activity they could do while waiting for BC launch. Now you don’t even have a chance of getting the full set before launch, unless you’re willing to fully commit all of your time to it.

People are also upset, because this is just the latest questionable decision made by Blizzard in the past few days. The prepatch launch was abysmal, and effectively pushed back a day. People are still experiencing a ton of bugs and performance issues from the update, and apparently some raids are even messed up. The honor nerf is just the straw that broke the camels back at this point.

I think people came into the prepatch expecting that they would be able to gear their alts within a few days.

The reality finally hit that it wasn’t actually that easy to gear up in the prepatch. It was easier than ranking, but it still required effort.

I can see why people are upset, but I personally blame the mythification surrounding HWL/GM gear in the prepatch.

  1. vanilla max level dungeons exist
  2. vanilla raids exist
  3. vanilla crafted gear exists
  4. the greens you get from completing HFP quests are equivalent to MC/BWL epics

You’re delusional if you think people will seriously gear check you for a leveling dungeon. I’ve never ever had anyone check my gear for a 5man.

“Fall behind” ? Behind who? WoW is not a race. WoW is not a competition.

I think it’s because people were expecting to be able to get a full set on wednesday before the fix. Once honor was reduced they felt like they lost something when they really shouldn’t have been able to get so much honor to begin with.

If it makes it feel any better, some of the quest rewards from hellfire are almost on par with high warlord gear, including some of the first quests. You won’t be far behind for long.

Way to post on a 34 alt.

Thanks for coming to play this expansion new player! Unfortunately, due to your clear lack of reverence for us, as proved by you not having farmed Naxx gear even though this game has been out for 2 years, you will be delegated to the “squalor” group. You get slower leveling times and general punishment for not having played this game and gearing yourself in the time we allotted for the previous expansion.

Thanks and please don’t tell your friends to come! We don’t want them either.

Personally I’ve just raised the anchor and am riding the wave now. In two weeks the only people who will even care still will be those who think their opinion > everyone else’s

Way to ignore my post and attack me because of the name I’m using

lmao

“I just joined the game but I want to be at the same level of power as people who have been playing for 2 years”

Yikes.

I don’t get it. They all feel super entitled to something blizzard never said they’d have.
