Still alive?
I’d of killed him by now.
Still alive?
I’d of killed him by now.
…Why?
I understand questioning his unearned prominence, but why would you kill him?
he is your lady’s new champion and you will respect his rules while you live under HIS roof.
To tie loose ends.
I’d consider it the height of foolishness to keep anything around that was manufactured by the Banshee Queens madness.
So… you think the Forsaken should exterminate themselves? Because she’s the architect of their entire society. Derek is not uniquely tied to her.
I don’t trust Blizzard not to use him to backstab us.
Derek Proudmoore is the most telling example of how Blizzard just forces characters down the players’ throats. Him being given such a privileged position in the Forsaken society was freaking crazy.
He’s a traitor just waiting to happen.
Even worse was the bait-and-switch. They build up Zelling, then kill him off so we get to have more scenes with Jaina and Baine.
Derek himself I don’t have too much of a problem with beyond the fact that like Calia, he’s an Alliance character that feels dumped into the Forsaken either to make them more like the Alliance, or just pity cause they knew they were going to wipe out the actual leaders and needed replacements ready and waiting.
My biggest gripe with Derek, beside you know, the usual alliance stuff. Is that his corpse was at the bottom of the ocean for 20+ yrs. He shouldn’t even have had a body to resurrect in BfA
Derek seems to have been another victim of cut content in BfA, the story acts as if there’s more content regarding him than there actually is. You see this all over the place in the expansion, to an extent even greater than WoD. Plot threads left incomplete only for characters to suddenly pop up again and being treated as if they’ve done something. I think maybe a few more years from now, more will come out about just how many plot threads were dropped that impacted BfA and SL.
There was the sound of heavy hooves o the gangplank leading up from shore onto the ship, and a large figure manifested out of the mist. Then the fog faded, and Baine Bloodhoof was revealed to Jaina Proudmore, Lady of Kul Tiras, Dalaran, Theramore, and Archmage of the Alliance.
The tauren clapped his hairy chest and bowed. “Lady Jaina. Long has it been since we spoke peacefully in Theramore.”
Jaina was not swayed by the pleasantries. Her eyes remained narrow, her limbs stiff, her staff clutched tightly. “Theramore is gone. You did not ask me here to remanence.” she said curtly.
“No.” Baine acknowledged. “To return one who was lost.” He turned sideways, revealing what lay hidden behind his great bulk.
Laying on the deck before them all was a small pile of damp ashes.
Jaina looked at it first with vague curiosity, then growing recognition, and with that recognition, rage and horror. “Derek… My own brother!” She glared at Baine, furious and betrayed. “I had thought better of you, Baine! So tell me, is he the banshee’s puppet, packed full of blight? Is he the bomb this time!?”
I see what you did there and I 100% approve.
But they couldn’t be bothered to use actual existing Forsaken.
And let’s not forget he was burned to ashes by dragon fire before falling into the ocean.
What is going on here? Jaina’s brother has been given a big position in the horde. Dark rangers who were very loyal and close to Sylvanas can apparently just slide into the alliance.
I don’t feel like the people writing the story understand how people react to things like war.
We had our first clue in Tides of Vengeance for this one.
Good thing nobody asked you.
Nobody cares about Forsaken characters unless they were important BEFORE they died.
Maybe they should.
This is just a military disaster waiting to happen since the traitors have conflicted ties with Alliance.
You can try but this man’s body remained intact in the ocean for like 30 years. He is most certainly made of sterner stuff than you. You would try to punch him and your fist would crinkle like aluminum foil.
What’s his privileged position? He’s like Nathanos 2.0 isn’t he?
