Why is Derek Proudmoore

Well he’s Calia’s champion, and although officially the 5 members of the Desolate Council have equal authority, it’s pretty obvious Calia will be the one with the most influence in the narrative, so yeah… I’m a bit worried

Seems like it’ll be split between Calia and Lilian Voss. They have some shared bonding over hardship is where we left off.

So his privileged position is that he shares a bed (in a sense) with one of the leaders. Depending on how strong they make Calia, he’ll have little sway in the council’s actions.

High Executor Anselm languishes in obscurity.
He’s objectively cooler than Belmont.

It honestly strikes me as strange that Belmont’s even on the Desolate Council. I feel like it’d make more sense for the top-ranking Executor of the Deathguard or the Dreadguard to be there; Belmont’s the ranking Deathstalker, who are basically the SI:7 of the Forsaken, so him openly holding a seat on the publicly visible governing body seems kind of contrary to the clandestine nature of his position. One would think he’d want to operate without the sort of scrutiny being on the Council would bring. Plus having a Deathstalker there seems a little bit redundant when Lilian’s already the Council’s resident high-level rogue.

Who cares? We aren’t at war anymore.

Nothing is over! Nothing!

You just don’t turn it off! It wasn’t my war! You asked me, I didn’t ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn’t let us win! And I come back to the world and I see all those maggots at the Flight Master, protesting me, spitting. Calling me baby killer and all kinds of vile crap!

It would make more sense to promote Belmont to be General of the Forsaken and appoint Voss as the new Deathstalker Commander. That way Belmont gets a little recognition and spotlight for his contributions since vanilla and Voss gets to mirror Matthias Shaw being the Spymaster for the council.

This is a game literally called Warcraft.

Everybody asking “Why is Derek Proudmoore?” But nobody is asking “How is Derek Proudmoore?”

I will do you one better “Who is Derek Proudmoore?”

Apparently a bit emo if his dialogue if you talk to him during that questline is any indication. You’d think he’d be happier with Calia as a girlfriend (then again Calia had more chemistry with Lillian during that cinematic than the two of them have displayed…so maybe he’s emo for more than one reason now).

Why not “When is Derek Proudmoore?” (he stumbled into the Caverns of Time, nobody can seem to figure out what era he’s at)

Please correct me if I’m wrong but from my understanding, Dark Rangers really remain a Horde group. Considering that even most Kaldorei Undeads decided to stay in the Horde, I imagine the number of High Elven Dark Rangers (who have been Forsaken from the very beginning) defecting to the Alliance can only be insignificant, at best.

My guess is either the Ren’dorei Dark Ranger option is purely cosmetic (remember that customization options don’t always reflect the lore : see the Dark and Sand Troll skins), or a handful of High Elven Dark Rangers did indeed defect to the Alliance but they’re really isolated cases.

It was certainly disappointing. He tells you he finally found a place where he belongs which is all well and good, but I wish he was more explicit. Something along the lines of " You see, career prospects in Kul Tiras aren’t exactly stellar when you’re… like me" would have been nice. Instead it’s just “I’m here because Calia was nice to me” which is meh.

He was raised as a weapon to be used against Jaina Proudmoore. Baine sort of threw a spanner into the works.

Unless the cowman has some kind of anti traitor powers then he’s still a ticking package.

It’s not called Horde Vs. Alliancecraft.

We can war with anybody.

I think that’s what people want. We’re all sick of the faction war, it’s never worked once when it’s been front and center. It only works as a background thing to justify the battlegrounds and pvp.

Derek: burned to ashes and sank to the bottom of the ocean where nothing survives crushing pressure and decay…

WoW writers: MERELY A SET BACK!

Ehhh… is Derek existing as Calia’s boytoy really that problematic? Its not like he’s actually on the Desolate Council, after all. He certainly looks like more a Forsaken than Calia does.

If he becomes Lord Admiral of the Forsaken Fleet, sure, that’d feel like they’re jumping the gun a bit. If he develops into that role, well, its less problematic.
