We’re already seeing lootboxes and instanced “wpvp” simulator.
So yeah you are correct

We get lootboxes but we can’t have decent infrastructure.
I’d love to see which talented codemonkey thought this garbage up. I’d also love for them to contact me - so I can eviscerate their software engineering capabilities.
The classic team is not the same as the retail team. But again, what do you lose if it sucks? Absolutely nothing, it will be just another Blizzard flop like SoM, WC3R, BFA you name it.
At this point, I just want to see what they’d do if they tried something else starting from the end of Wrath.
They should develop classic+. It would keep more subs for the company and make more customers happy. “drops the mic”
my dream would be them going the oldschool runescape route, maybe if they’re concerned about lore and ideas they’d do some weird bronze dragonflight time travel junk. who knows? it’ll never happen though, retail will continue to go down a poor path (i hope it doesnt) and classic will die
It begs the question: Do you expect Blizzard to re-use assets for “new” content? I would argue that players want “new” content – with a proper workforce to support “Their game”.
It’s “new old content” since in classic plus we’re not going for the expansions you can just use assets from there.
False, I came back for classic I haven’t played retail in years and I don’t plan to.
I’ve got bad news for you buddy.
All of these things were mop not cata my friend. People hated cata becuase of the difficulty jump and dragon soul.
They revamped talent trees in every expansion. They removed talent trees in mop.
I would play a classic+ with wrath classes design.
Vanilla classes were just really bad compared to tbc and wrath.
Lol. Part of the appeal of classic is today everything is known and takes minimal effort. You think people want spend time these days figuring stuff out?
Sure, I recognize that ‘new’ doesn’t automatically mean ‘good’ but I still think it could be fun. Why not?
Yes, exactly. Wotlk classes were peak, imho
TBC and Wrath are Classic+. Or more specifically Vanilla+. The plus being the expansion to Vanilla which is Burning Crusade. Wrath is TBC+.
In every classic+ thread there’s a goober that post this same comment every time? are you all parrots? are you all the same person?
Because most likely classic doesnt have enough players or they don’t think enough of classic players will pay 50USD box price of classic+ x-pac to fund development costs.
Even bad retail x-pacs still sold 5-6+ million copies for 40-60USD. Unless Wrath+ can manage to sell millions of copies for 40USD its probably no worth the development cost.
Making new content is way more expensive than reusing old x-pacs on modern retail client.
Because it is the natural conclusion if you think about it at all. Go back in time to when Vanilla WoW development was just completed. They need to decide what to do to expand the game. We already know what their decision was here. They made Burning Crusade.
Hypothesizing what they would have done to expand the world of Azeroth is a pointless discussion because it already happened.
What is the point of going back to Vanilla and then going down an alternative path of history? There is no way the modern WoW devs would even be capable of mimicking the style of the Classic WoW devs so it is guaranteed to be retail-like.
If you want more Classic WoW then there is TBC Classic and Wrath Classic made by the Classic WoW devs. That’s all there ever will be. Modern WoW devs still feel the need to ruin it as often as they can though.
the thing is they have mountains of data on who’s op who’s not and why. they could adjust that and make a perfect game. for me MOP would be the only other one I’d want to play because the pvp was so good I dont know about the pve because I never did it
