Why is Classic Better Than Retail?

Its because its the opposite of retail where PvP is the minigame and PvE is the focus.

Classic you log in for 30 minutes every 3 days to get you raid out of the way, then the bots hop on here to complain that their numbers were lower than some other class even though the boss died either way just like it has the past 12 mini-games, and the real people go PvP.

There’s aspects of both I enjoy.

There’s also aspects of both that are trash, or have aged poorly in Classic’s case.

You can’t tell me waiting an hour for mail between your own characters is ā€œbetterā€ than instant mail, for example.

I play Retail when I’m out of stuff to do in SoD, which all there is for me is BFD during resets, and Ashenvale every few hours.

Bored of doing normal dungeons, and there’s nothing for me in there anyway. All of my profs on each of my 3 level 25’s is at 150 already, got my epic chest piece on my warrior.

I feel like, if you’re paying for a WoW sub and aren’t playing both, you’re just losing out on getting your bang for your buck, full value.

classic is an immersive world with meaning and consequences to your actions. other iterations are not. simple as that

Cause I am a super content destroyer in SoD and a +8 player in retail. It’s been good for self-esteem :+1:

I mean you could PvP.

Raid logging for Trashenfail event isn’t PvP.

The real PvP actually has to stop so we can get the pseudo-PvP event over with and get the 6 raids of bots out of the zone.

True, the real reason its better is because the world has this kind of cohesion where they feed off of each other. Retail its all just minigames you play from [insert expansion main city name]. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I’m not sticking around in any of these threads because I’m not an idiot tribalist. No point in trying to get others to see things your way, especially on the internet, waste of time.

ā€œReal PvPā€ has no definition, because premaders think people afk’ing in a GY is real PvP, lol. Fence-hopping in WSG, is trash design.

At least retail PvP is playable for the vast majority of people, in SoD, it ain’t.

Ranked also exists in retail, it’s taken more seriously.

I’m going to go ahead and say retail has better instanced PvP, SoD has better world PvP.

And I love Ashenvale event, for the record.

I mean you’re out there 1v1ing, or you’re LF INV EAST every few hours.

One of these things is not like the other.

We go do glaive, and go sit on catapult right after, defending and stalling Alliance for as long as we can, even dying to do so, so our other groups can succeed.

There’s no 1v1, and even if there was 1v1 it is boring and the game isn’t balanced around it. We’d all be playing rogues if 1v1 was so important.

I’m sorry that’s not fun to you, maybe you can find another game you enjoy.

SoD is about world PvP, and that’s not changing anytime soon.

STV will be next.

I’m starting to think you don’t even play SoD, lol.

No no, you misunderstood.

I do WPvP, its you that doesn’t.

That’s just zerging. Weird you guys are dying doing it though idefkat

??? A world pvp strat isn’t world pvp? I’m out lol.

You dropped this. :brain:

Zerging literally means all-out offense, it’s a tactic.

Its yours to cope with iunno,

There are zero consequences for your actions, lmao.

On topic:
One isnt better than the other.

Classic feels better because it isnt a phone game dressed up as an MMO. Just a world that you can do stuff in, rather than a daily quest hub.

I’m enjoying both retail and SoD, idk what your problem is.

Salty for… reasons?

Go ahead and scream from the hills that your version is better, people won’t be listening lol.

They’ll be gaming.

Well, raid logging anyhow

Zerging ā€œliterallyā€ means turn your brain off and early unit rush in Starcraft.

Wow borrowed the term and used it in place of murderball.

But go off sis, tell us all about your strats

Retail, you dont die at all while leveling… Its for zoomers that like easy rewards. Its also less crowded and feels empty as everyone is flying around. Retail is for pixel boys, dressup kids and easy presents.

I died 4 times to packs Harpies at level 17 just to get a green dagger. When I leveled my mage in Wotlk from 70-80 I died a single time. Boring stuff and lacks any challenge at all.

I struggle to see how a tactic involving sending everyone to fight isn’t PvP, lol.

But yeah I’mma head out of this thread because I can see how, the retail haters coming in to talk about what topic they hate about retail today, lmao.

Ya’ll think about retail every day, but they aren’t thinking about classic, I can tell you that.

You manage to die in classic?

Its because it requires no skill.

Hope that clears it up. :heart_hands:
