Why is Cata Being Shortened? How disappointing

I am only leveling characters to play in cataclysm but its only going to be a few months? Cata was the best expansion released to date by blizzard with challenging content, fun raids and pvp, and great talent trees for classes. The only people, in memory, to actually complain about cata back in 2011 were newbs who couldn’t handle the difficulty. So with the apparent nerfs that are happening shouldn’t this fix the QQing?

Not to mention firelands was the best raid made with heroic ragnarok only having a handful of guilds who defeated it and hidden bosses that were heroic only.

and sadly Pandaria, the worst expansion ever created in the history of the game, is getting a full release of over a year? Blizzard please reconsider so I don’t waste my time leveling in classic servers :frowning:

Its going to be roughly a year…
thats not cut short…

they did the numbers with SoD and found that they have a dip… but then a large boost in players each time with every phase… therefor they are keeping the player base happy with not out right leaving them bored.

who told you that? accounting for the time between dragon soul release and pandaria, Cata is going to be at least a year

I don’t know how I feel about cata being shortened. I’ll only be able to tell in hindsight I think.

You mentioned you believe there’s only 1 reason people dislike cata.

Makes me wonder. What are your reasons for disliking mop?

It says 9 weeks per raiding tier so that is very short.

My reasons for disliking MOP was that it was far too easy and content that wasn’t worth subbing for. For example: I used to que MOP Heroics as a healer but would change to ret since healers weren’t needed for the expansion. There was nothing memorable about the expansion except for aethsetics.

Yep. Kinda crazy. Each raid is 1 month long. You get 4 weeks to gear from each raid.

Bro… pandaria wasn’t the greatest expansion, but do you not recall WoD, BFA, or Shadowlands? lol. You are really grasping at straws to put cataclysm in the spotlight.
Cataclysm was a great expansion. One of the best in my opinion. But to say MoP was the worst is extremely silly.

I, too, like to run the lowest difficulty content and then base the difficulty of the entire endgame on that alone

Fair.

I for one had the most fun in MoP out of all expansion. And I guess I was bad because my guild failed to kill Lei Shen heroic and it took us a while to get Garrosh Mythic. First tier we killed all the Heroic bosses though so maybe it was too easy? I don’t know still felt fun and challenging to me.

As for class design I had no issue with it. I loved multi speccing in progression and I played both dps and healer and both were fun. In my mind Cata and MoP had the best class design, though I wish we kept the talent tree intact in MoP. But I might change my mind after playing them again. We shall see.

For dungeons I don’t remember how hard they were beside challenge modes. I thoroughly enjoyed challenge mode. I did them all more than 10 times.

Well I think it’s great that each individual has different preferences. I might not be able to enjoy vanilla but some people love it. Which is great. There’s something for everyone.

And even worse hes talking about later once people outgear the heroics lol.

No im talking about at the very beginning of MOP, you did not need a healer at all in the beginning before the first raiding tier was even released. All content in MOP afterwards was solo healable

Don’t even know a single player that played during mop that had fun or enjoyed the expansion. This is a first for me seeing people defend the expansion.

I am confused do you think I am lying? I have vods of my kills from back then but only in SoO. I assure I and my guild played back then and it was quite easy to find a guild too so the servers seemed very lively.

And if I was lying I’d claim to have killed Lei Shen. =)

Also, I don’t remember considering Cata Heroics that hard. I remember people complaining about how hard they are, yes. But personally, since I had my own groups to play with and wasn’t pugging at the very beginning. I didn’t experience that “extreme” difficulty.

And I don’t remember thinking that MoP dungeons are easier. Probably because I had the option to do them in challenge mode if I wanted to be challenged. And I also don’t mind if dungeons aren’t challenging as long as raids are. Getting both is great though.

I don’t remember if challenge mode were available on launch though. So if they weren’t it’s fair criticism to say dungeons weren’t challenging enough. And I can understand the disappointment.

Where do you get your info?

The first raid sets are 5 months, then Firelands releases in October, which goes for 3 months, then Dragon Soul releases in January.

Hopefully they make some changes to account for the short cycles.

Leggo staff needs a huge bump in drop rates.

Tier should work like retail where it changes per spec. Its gonna take a long time for a 10m guild to build off spec sets. Or just cheese it and let you buy it from a vendor once you get it on main spec.

Both 10 and 25m should have a 33% chance for an extra item from raid bosses to speed gearing up a bit.

MoP heroic dungeons are far easier than Cata heroics dungeons, MoP adopted the Wolk style of heroics

Even if you take that line on it’s own. It isn’t a claim that Heroics were not easier in MoP than Cataclysm. It is saying I don’t remember feeling a difference in the difficulty of the endeavor. Because as I mentioned before I didn’t struggle with dungeons in Cata either.

I remember having to work with my team to learn how to clear a gold challenge mode. I don’t remember having to work with my team to clear a heroic dungeon in Cataclysm or MoP. I never disputed the fact that MoP Heroics are easier than Cata heroics though.

Honestly if we are to talk about disappointment. I can certainly say I am disappointed that dungeons are released in their post nerf state.
