Why is Blizzard so intent on destroying progression in WoW?

Yeah dude idk what you’re talking about. My 586 enh shaman destroys all world content without even blinking. I think this is more a hypothetical issue than it is a true problem. Or you’re not very good at the game.

They would not have added things like allied races, if they didn’t want to encourage players to have more than one or two characters.

Overabundance of things to do, especially if what you say is true, and only play one character. Still have plenty of dungeons raids bg’s etc in this game. Open world? Heck hasn’t been much of an open world in this game, or reason to leave a city hub since Legion, and BFA for that matter, even if only playing one character.

Cause the player base is mostly working adults who don’t have time for grinding. No on liked grinding legion artifacts, no one liked grinding azurite. The reason I got back into WoW is because I can play it with having to commit to a second job now.

Retail is a seasonal game. You get gear to do harder versions of the dungeons (more affixes), harder raid content, harder delves so you can more easily get the seasonal cosmetic achievements faster. If you’re hardcore you use this gear to try to complete as many mythic raid bosses as possible and possibly get Cutting Edge.

If you want your desired feeling of “progression”, just stay at lower key levels and normal raid and speed run it - like classic wow players do all the time.

You obviously just don’t like the game anymore. Just quit, dude. Honestly, find something you truly enjoy and do that.

Amazing how much of a complainer you are. You’re disgusting. Things are fine, game has a lot of new things, it’s going well…

I get it and all but they literally have 4 versions of the same game at several time lines you can play atm classic WoW, cata classic, classic hardcore, and retail WoW…of those 4 any of the other 3 seem to be what you are looking for…

That doesn’t mean they won’t do it though. That was where subs were at their peak and they might go that route just for nostalgia purposes.

Personally I think Legion is the better option though. At least up to Cata (and maybe including Cata) there are things they had to work out just to get those older expansions to work right, and while I believe they are trying to do that (evidenced by the upcoming revamp of Deadmines), I’m taking a guess they are quite ready with those yet. MoP and newer had less work to do to make them function that way.

Interesting that you trying to summarize situation but you do not ask the main question,
why people complaining, nobody complaining about the numbers being 1billion or 1thousand, people complaining about difficulty.
The game enjoyable when you do not suffer at each turn (beginning or end of expansion).
People would be happier if game went from ok - difficulty to steamroll by end of season,
not like it isright now: mats unavailable, difficulty satanic oneshots, fun - sucked out.
